    Another Bench thread

I'm gonna wrap the plywood with 3/4x1-1/2 Oak or Maple, haven't decided. Then top it with masonite for now. Maybe Stainless in the future. I think oil based paint will stand up a little better in the shop, it ***** to use but hopefully it works out.

    Which paint to use

I think I would use a Satin finish. IMHO, semi-gloss would be too shinny on a wall, just too big of an area. Mark

    Another Bench thread

Hi all, finally got some time to build a bench. Take a look tell me what you all think. The legs are 6x6's and everything else is 3/4" plywood glued and screwed together. I think I'm gonna paint it with an oil based paint.

Tap & Die Set - What to buy?

I also have the self aligning set. It is basically a long taper, which sometimes (not often) is a downer, but overall it is an awesome set, got mine from Amazon....shop around.

How worried should I be about the strenght and durability of this slab?

if theres plastic under the slab then the bubbles are probably from air....if air was added to the concrete mix then it has nowhere to go but up with plastic under the slab. *** the concrete starts to dry (slowly because of lower temps) the air comes to the top and bubbles.......the price you...

    Bridgeport 3phase in Garage

I know an old guy who hooked up an old 5hp 3 phase motor to straight 240v single phase, when he wants it to work he just flips the switch and gives the shaft a nudge with his shoe (so the shaft rotates) and away it goes. Dont think I would do that but it works, instant 3 phase, just a motor...
