Air plumbing, how would you do it?

Don't use PVC for air lines unless it is specifically made for this application. Under the right conditions PVC can burst and send shards all over the place. If the line between the buildings is underground it will eventually fill with condensate (water) and it will be pushed along and exit...

FINALLY building my shop... 30x40 in NC

I prefer OSB over plywood. I expose the textured side (the one with the nailing lines) and prime with two coats of oil base Kilz followed with ordinary interior latex. Generally a much better finish that you can achieve with comparably priced plywood. I would stud up 8 feet to cover the...

    New 28X34 Shop in Michigan

I really like threads with lots of pictures. Nice build. Don't worry about the rebar and the vapor barrier. What is done is done.

New Jersey: Pioneer Pole Buildings 40'x60'x14'

You can also rent a couple of scaffolding sections, walk boards and casters for a manageable amount. Around here you can rent for a month for not much more than a weekend. When I built my shop I kept my scaffolding for three months. Money well spent.

    Zengineer's Metal Work Shoppe

I also purchased an Evolution metal cutting chop saw. Very pleased. In fact I was so pleased that I purchased their metal cutting skill saw. The only downside is the chips. They go everywhere.

The "What have I done?" House/Garage

Have you considered contacting the "This Old House" crew? They like to work close to their home base in Boston. They have a reputation for being a little loose with the client's money and leaving a tax bill on donated materials. But, the job will be done right. Or maybe not.

    More VFD Questions

I have access to a 220V 3hp rated single phase VFD. Input is standard 220V (2 conductors w/ground) and output is 220 3 phase (3 conductors w/ground). I want to use this VFD on my 3hp ACRA mill. Currently the motor is hooked up to a rotary converter. The reason I want to change out is...

    VFD Question

Many thanks for the offer. I may take you up on it. I have a millwright friend who spends most of his time swapping out equipment in hospitals and factories. It is amazing what they scrap out. Hoping he will come across a motor that will work for me. I just put up a post asking, from a user...
