Why oh why do people recommend these tools???

I just sold all of my box end and open ended wrenches. Don't need em anymore. I have a couple pairs of visegrips, even a robogrip, an adjustable socket from home Depot (on sale 9 bucks!), 3 sizes of crescent wrenches, and a claw hammer. Have an amazing out of space in my garage now.

So i'm in the market for a new cordless drill.

The Milwaukee M18 fuel line is amazing . I have the impact and the drill. I love them. I purchased it after Buying the 3/8 impact from the same line and was amazed at how well it performed. It blew my rigid impact out of the water. The reasons I love it: Ergonomics, it just feels good in my...

Tapcons vs powder-driven fasteners: your favorite and why?

I can't stand Tapcons. I have had nothing but bad luck with them. I greatly prefer either ramset fasteners or the drill and pound wedge fasteners.

Looking for my first angle grinder. Metabo?

I love my ridgid grinder. It's compact and has never let me down. I think I paid 90 or so for it.

    FyrMe's Tool Restoration Thread

I can't wait to see the nameplate restored. I plan on doing similar restorations on a bunch of similar tools for my garage. I want to outfit it with older stuff for my bench grinder, drill press, small lathe and so on. Awesome work!

    1 tool everyone should own?

I'd have to go with knife. If that wasn't an option then I'd go with a gator grip socket. That was a joke.

    Compressor type and location....

I feel I should also add that the sound is a pretty big issue. Not so much for me as it is for my neighbors. I work 4pm to 4am 4 to 6 days a week. So my normal awake and productive hours are during a time when noise ordinances apply.

    Compressor type and location....

As I am putting my garage together my next step is going to be sorting out the compressor system. I have a few questions I am hoping the veterans here can help with to help my decision be the best one. The original plan: Build a compressor room for an oiled compressor. This room would be...

I wanna see your work stations!

Couldn't find this via search, if it's been done someone please post a link to it. I have been scrolling through the gallery a lot lately. Love seeing all of the builds and enginuity of the people here. The parts I enjoy the most are the parts that us with already built garages can use ideas...

    My 24x32

Your air system idea is genius. I love it. Think I might have to pirate that from you for my garage. Looks awesome so far. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

What do you think of this flat file?

This flat file seems crazy cheap to me, not to mention the free shipping? Looks too good to be true. Thoughts? http://m.ebay.com/itm/221304862707?nav=SEARCH&sbk=1

    Brown paper bag floor

What you just said is why I started this post. I was looking for suggestions as to what types of clear coats are durable. I said earlier I know the big box kits are junk, so what isn't junk?

    Brown paper bag floor

Who said I had to go cheap? I am not considering a 50 cent is per square foot tile floor as that would be ceramic. I know one guy here with perhaps the most famous garage here used ceramic but I think he is the exception and not the rule when it comes to durability. I want to put down a high...

    Brown paper bag floor

I know for interior use it can be an extremely durable and cheap flooring option. I'm just unsure of what clear coat to use to make it durable in a garage. I would love to do porcelain tile, but it would cost more to get the tile than it would to buy another truck to park on it

    Brown paper bag floor

I think if I etched the floor then applied a clear coat, then the stained paper, then 2 or 3 coats of clear on top of that. Just need to find a good clear coat to do it with. I have heard mixed reviews on the quality of big box store kits.

    Brown paper bag floor

I did a couple searches and couldn't find any results. I really like the look of brown paper bag floors. I like the price of them even more. The process is extremely simple. Rip up some brown craft paper, crumple it up, uncrumple it, lay it on the floor and apply urethane. What i want to...
