    GTO Garage Build

Nah- jealousy takes the fun out of it. I try to share with friends as much as I can. Honestly I am ready to quit working on them and start driving them!

    GTO Garage Build

I really like the idea of clean and dirty areas. We keep the original 3 car as the clean side with the cool signs and decor and the addition is where all the dirty work is done. Makes clean up of the clean side very very easy and keeps your tools organized on the dirty side.

    Goat's garage

Only people that haven't driven an 04-06 GTO say that. I've had an Aussie goat and it was a great car- much more stable and solid than any of my 4th gens. Working on a 70 now-

    Anyone Here From Houston TX?

I live in spring- I agree. I needed some work done at our old house (enclosing a loft) and could not get a call back.

    New Bird Nest

Nice 79- wish mine was a 4 speed, only ones that got the 400. Mine has the look but with the 403 auto it is pretty sow by today's standards. Hard to beat a black and gold trans am!

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

Definitely interested in learning more about the TTA. That car is so much more fun than a regular trans am of the same era. Decided this weekend after doing the fuel pump in the 94 trans am I need a lift. Just need the $$$.....

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

I have a lotta debt after building this shop! most of my cars are high mileage ones that no one wanted and were affordable. My 95 Hawk has 168,000 miles on it! My theory is to buy at the low point of their value (right now 80's and early 90's rare muscle cars cost less than most TVs). For...

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

The GC got the doors from overhead door co. The quality is great but the customer service was horrible. They sent guys out and they were really unprepared- I had to help them get ready to hang them. I really like the 10' door in front cause it rides against the wall allowing room for a lift and...

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

Those sun shades are exactly what I need- where would you go to get them, do the big box locations sell them or do you need to go to a patio store? We have a 20th- it is at my dads with the 95 hawk and a couple others: The next one on the list is a 30th anniversary but they really hold their...

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

I know I gave up wall space with all the doors but the difference in the heat is definitely worth it! I never though LT1 cars would be in the 2k range. I guess it doesn't matter how much I like them to most people they are just outdated used cars. Usually I just work on older cars but these...

Is it just me or has this "ultimate shop" thing gone too far?

wow this is a long thread.... Here is my take- most of us are normal dudes that enjoy being in the garage. I think the 300k+ shops are the minority here but we all like to see 'em and find new ideas. But... For me I really, really like to be in the garage....and cleaning up is free. I don't...

    Tankless water heater

Look at a point of use water heater like one made by eemax. If you only need the water at the sink this is a cheap option.

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

Yea I kinda got on a 4th gen kick for a while.... I also have a red 95 Firehawk stored in my dads barn along with his toys. LT1 cars have gotten really cheap and are a great alternative to the LS cars. The WS6 was in decent shape when I got it- the Firehawk was reeeaally neglected (pads were...

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

Looking for suggestions on how to finish out the new portion of the garage- originally iwas going to continue on with the icehouse/barn theme but looking for ideas. My plan was to put corrugated sheet metal on the walls over the garage doors. Looking for something that will be easy to hang...

I need a rack to store my wheels and tires

I put them on the floor vertical under the bottom shelf on a shelving set 24" deep. Putting a 2x2 on the floor 24" or so From the wall keeps them from rolling around. Works great and cheap. Plus you don't have to lift them to put them on the rack. Too bad the damn thing is upstairs.

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

Yea- nothing for free.... I just paid the $$ to fix the pics.,. I went from a community with an HOA that would do nothing to one that monitored everything- I do have to admit it does keep the neighborhood nicer.

I beat the HOA! - new shop in Houston

It's always too small! You are correct if I do anything major I will have to move a car outside. Storage was the original goal as I just have too much stuff. Last year was so hot that I found myself doing indoor projects outside because of airflow so o figured this woul allow the same thing...
