    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT The **** Shack

I just want to **** in a say that I'm finding this thread (or at least the first post) incredibly helpful as I'm also thinking about how to expand/extend/build onto an existing shed/garage structure and/or foundation just like this. The forum is interesting because American inequality is on...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Jeff's Mountain Side Shop (Portland)

Then she should be happy about the forecast for this weekend! lol I live in central Portland and I was actually looking at vacant forest property in the surrounding hills, I think I actually know where you're building, I was looking at a few smaller properties down the slop and to the southeast...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

This will be somewhat off the topic of your Bridgeport but I just want to say that I too live in Portland and it's a great city. But housing here is a bit expensive as you probably know so congrats on finding a place that's affordable! Is it centrally located or nah? I'm in the South Portland...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Denver MCM garage expansion

I just skimmed through most of the the whole thread and this is an impressive garage! It was good to see an extension as that's what I might be doing in the future. I love the style and I love all the windows!! Good job mate Are you going to replace the trees that were removed from the backyard?

    Motorcycle Garages Only

Here's my little collection. The CL200 is mine and the little red Honda (a CL75 iirc) was my roommates, sadly he got t-boned while riding it and it's pretty mangled. He broke a ankle but was fine otherwise. Here's my previous garage, next to my roommate Alex's VFR. The three wheeler was mine...

What did you do "TO" your garage today?

I got my garage ready for Christmas! And yes I have an incredibly small garage. It's only 11' by 18' and somehow I manage to cram a motorcycle, small car, workbench, hot water heater, and all my tools and things. I had to kick my bicycle to the back yard. Yup, that's my space for doing...

    Welding in patch panels

    Welding in patch panels

Just as an example of what NOT to do this is a patch panel I did about 5 years ago on a '73 Chevy K10. That panel was made somewhere in Asia. I welded it in with .030 flux core. I filled the voids with fiberglass body filler and called it good! When I sold the truck last year, rust had not yet...

My WOODEN FLOOR Saga: How I rebuilt the floor in my work shop to support a small car

I just want to share with you guys my experience with a wooden garage floor and what I went through to get it ready to hold a small car. I'm not asking for advice at this stage, ie "you should have hired an engineer", but concern and helpful criticism is usually constructive to the learning...

    Show us your welding projects

Not that it's any of your business, and it's really nothing to write home about, and it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick... but my latest welding project involved welding 1/8" tube frame rails to my Miata.

Moving my shop half way across the country... anyone have advice?

Dang. Maybe one day I'll have a collection of cars and **** that needs a dramatic story like that to move it all   I haven't added up all the costs yet, but an online quote for ABF had it at over $3k. That's more than I had hoped for.

Moving my shop half way across the country... anyone have advice?

You know what, now that I think about it, all the Pneske trucks I see on the road are a whole lot better looking than the Uhaul ones. I bet you're right! I used a Uhaul car trailer a few weeks ago to pick up my '67 VW Type 3 (it was a 10 hour round trip) and when I finally got home, one of the...

    Stick vs: Steel Garage

I have a stick-built garage with a WOOD FLOOR! Trust me, you don't want a wooden floor, especially when the joists are spaced out 24" and half of them are eaten by termites. Why did they even bother installing a garage door with a concrete driveway leading up to it??

What toolbox is in the back of your truck?

got a little canvas toolbag with a multipurpose screw driver, some old wrenches, zip ties, channel locks, breaker bar with appropriate size socket for my lug nuts, tire repair kit, hose clamps, etc. But that sits in a milk crate along side an air compressor, tow strap, scissor jack, various...

Moving my shop half way across the country... anyone have advice?

Mrs. Mannydantyla wants to move from Kansas to Oregon and start our lives over (ok, to be fair, it's a decision that we made together). We're moving at the end of April and she already put in her notice at work. So it's happening. Fortunately I don't have *too* much to move out of my shop, but...

    MP&C Shop Projects

Robert, thank you so much for sharing these techniques and pictures. I just have one question: where should somebody who knows next to nothing about metal working go to begin learning these skills? I just bought a small mig welder & small bead roller from Eastwood, a bench vice, angle grinder...
