    Scepter's Shop Build and Projects

Hi all! I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year! I've been lurking, but haven't been posting much as I've been sick three dang times in the last month and half. It's getting ridiculous. I've done a few minor things in the shop here and there. Changed the oil in the Jeep and did a...

Nice update to the shifter Mike!

Thanks for the reminder on the hitch Mike! I'll have to add that myself as I've now had my tow bar on 2 years. Really got to get some of that big rig paint you're using. That looks like some good stuff.

Fascinating how the manufacturers of these coaches changed things over the years. My coach has one of the giant hydraulic reservoirs and 3 filters inside. Speaking of that, given your experience in industrial settings, do you view the filter system you have to be adequate? I suppose that more...

Mike are you going with the Air Force One braking system? It's a pretty good system, but the actuator that goes on the brake pedal in the Jeep can get in the way of your foot. I've learned to live with mine, but it takes some getting used to. I've got it mounted up about as high as I could get...

I'm actually wondering if this is an old 2 cylinder Wisconsin engine. And cast iron. I may have missed it, but what's the year on this Mike?

9 years!! The HORROR!! :ROFLMAO: RV folks are nuts for the 5 year or whatever "rule" they've been told by the internet.... I'm a firm believer that if you keep your coach tires properly inflated and stored properly they can last. Well, that, and a quality tire to begin with.

Puget Dude’s creations and fabrications (Random project thread.)

You're gonna like that SaniFlow toilet if you haven't used one before. I put one in a basement I had one time and they're the bees knees for that stuff. I even had a shower and sink tied into mine.

Almost forgot...actually did get to the shop last weekend for a day. Daughters car (Kia Optima) has been exhibiting some strange behavior lately. Intermittent crank/stop crank (no start). She'll put the key in, crank, car stops cranking for a second or two, resumes cranking. Might do it once...

Thanks Thom! And heck if I know, that's why I asked. It's the first I've ever seen of it and I've watched several diff videos recently trying to learn how to do it as my Jeep is in need of a regear.

Another interesting (to me) project in the shop Mike! I saw a video yesterday (I get random stuff on the internet and try on purpose to confuse the **** out of the algorithm). They guy was saying that pinion depth is the measurement from the flat part (front) of the pinion gear to the flat...

Cant' say that I've ever seen green goo that bad in a carb before. That's nuts. Yard is looking good as usual Mike! I did a little seeding on mine this past weekend, hoping to keep the mud run from happening again this year as the dogs bust out the back door to make sure there aren't any...

That's just insane. You'd think a shop that does this for a living would do a better job. I've said for a few years now that if a person did good work at a reasonable rate and actually showed up for the job would have so much work they wouldn't know what to do with themselves. Mistakes happen...

I hope everyone had a great weekend! No shop work this past weekend, but I did do some work, and some play. Went out to my folks house and helped clean their pellet stove and chimney. Dirty job, but those pellet stoves work so much better when they are clean. We dismantle most of the stove...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT ZMotorsports Home and 50x60x16 Shop/RV Garage

Found it! I suspected this was the place. I had read most if not all of this thread a while ago but didn't subscribe (for some unknown reason). As always, the yard/home/shop look great!!!

I've also bee pretty impressed with continentals on the passenger cars we have. My better half has a car through work and both of them she's had were continental tires. They seem to last pretty good even though she doesn't do many miles. What's the other thread you speak of??? Off to the...

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We spent the last week down in North GA on a trip to get out of town and go see a couple of the kids. We were able to spend some quality time with them and their significant others, for which we're grateful. The area around Ellijay/Blue Ridge/Carter's Lake...

Man, there was a LOT of dirt on top of that tank! Now I want to drop mine to see what kind of artifacts I can find! That lift table is the bees knees as well. I'd have to use the transmission jack on mine with a bunch of blocking.
