Just finished my garage, not happy with the flooring

I don't know what he charged you for the floor but from what you tell us about his problems, I seriously doubt the floor was properly prepped and installed correctly. If you really want a great looking floor, that will last, I think you need to start over. Get some good product from one of the...

Whats with the "buy online" obsession for everyday things ?

For me it's a 30 minute drive just to get to someplace to shop. Why driver around all day, looking for something that they probably don't have anyway, when I can go on line to Amazon and get it cheaper in 2 days with Prime. If I really need it, I can still get it the next day for less then I...

    Finishing Butcher Block

About the only thing that will resist oil and fuel stains, is the Spar Varnish already mentioned. Any type of oil finish will not seal the wood, especially Oak, from having oil seep in from a spill. Poly Urethane would also work but will be susceptible to chipping and not easily repairable. With...

New Home + Epoxy + Garage

Make sure the floor has set up for at least 30 days. First, grinding is better than etching no matter whether the floor is new or not. The purpose is to ready the concrete for the epoxy. Put down a good quality primer, then the main coat of 100% solids epoxy with how ever many flakes you want...

    Diablo Blades

I have used both Freud and Diablo blades and they are very good blades. As stated, the Diablo blades are Freud's cheaper line but are still very good blades. I prefer the Forrest line and they are better blades but they cost a lot more also. I don't think you could go wrong with the Diablo blades.

    Newage Cabinets In Taupe??

The NewAge Pro cabinets are a very good cabinet, no matter which color you get them in. They are fully welded 18 gauge construction and if you can't afford the really nice cabinets, like me, then they are about the best option available. I looked into about ever metal cabinet out there last...

    Newage Cabinets In Taupe??

Thanks. I have found that if I don't really keep at it, everything ends up covered in sawdust, so I try and clean as I go. I know what you mean about throwing stuff away. When I did my garage makeover last year http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=193742 I felt like I threw away...

    Newage Cabinets In Taupe??

I have the NewAge Diamond Plate Pro cabinets in my garage. I didn't care for the plain fronts so I went with the Diamond Plate. I have been very happy with them and they have held up well. Here is a pic of the cabinets in my woodworking shop side of the garage. I have another set of cabinets on...

    Looking to buy Milwaukee cordless

Have the best of both worlds. Get the 3/8's impact and a 1/4 hex adapter. http://www.milwaukeetool.com/accessories/fastening/48-03-4405 I have this combination and it works out well. The only time it's a problem is if you are working in very tight places because it's a little longer then the...

Help me pick a Ridgid Shop Vacuum

I have owned numerous different shop vacs over the years and hated all of them for various reasons. I really hated my last Shop Vac brand because it took up so much space and the wheels were always falling off, absolutely hated it. Last year I was going to redo my garage and knew I needed a new...

    recommend me a drill press

I have the Delta 18-900L and I am very happy with it. The table is great, has 6 inch spindle travel and will go slow enough for using large bits to drill in metal, one of my requirements. You have to move the belts manually for speed changes but with their setup it's no big deal. The only belt...

    3/8" drive impact recommendations?

Are you only looking for air, or is cordless also in play. I love my Milwaukee Fuel 3/8's impact http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2454-22 This thing has enough power to handle most jobs and you don't have a hose dragging around with you. I hardly use my 1/2" since I got the...
