    'Best' cordless 3/8 " ratchet?

It's not better as far as performance goes. That's a fact not just an opinion. I have a ton of Milwaukee stuff but the ratchet comes up short with a weak head.

    Knack tool boxes

For what this guy wants to do a small job box will serve him well. I personally can not stand those crappy van shelving setups.

    Bench Grinder Wheel Quality

We use nothing but Norton wheels at my job. Over the years I have gone through at least a few thousand 8" diameter stones and never had any issues with them.

    Knack tool boxes

I couldn't disagree more. Over the years I have returned to my work vehicle to find that some skel tried to pry open the job boxes during the night on my welding truck. I have a small 36" in the back of my personal truck that is chained in a with few locks. It's a great way to secure a small...

    Knack tool boxes

We use them quite a bit and leave them on jobs in remote areas. They are the huge units and are moved around with a grapple truck. The weak area is in the lock. If someone can pick it they could gain access.

    First Real Welder

A miller 252 would work real nice for you. Don't rule out used machines as well. I'm a huge fan of the older miller mm200 welders. The 30a spool gun can be added later for aluminum work.

First arc weld I'm proud of

Sberry is correct no need to bevel, just needed a standard fillet weld. Keep working at it.

Show us your first aid kit

The two times I had staples it was hard enough to sit still and have the nurse take them out. I would have never been able to get them all out myself.

    Most powerful cordless ratchet

The Snap On is worth it if you want one of the strongest heads to break fastners loose. I am planning on adding the 1/4" bare ratchet to my 3/8" kit.

    Most powerful cordless ratchet

I love most of my Milwaukee stuff but the ratchet just wouldn't hold up. Milwaukee was great about warranty service. I replaced it was the Snap On 14 volt line and it's been holding up great.

Why to you like Made in USA tools?

I totally disagree with this statement, but unfortunately if we continue it's going to get ugly so I'll just bow out.

Why to you like Made in USA tools?

Another Union hater who forgets where the 40 hour work week, overtime, vacation, pension etc came from. It sure wasn't the greedy ******* companies that gave it up willingly.

Looking to buy my first torch

I am not misunderstanding you! I fully understand what you are stating that you can install propane or acetylene "Cutting" tips in most torches. I am talking about welding tips such as #0,#2#4 etc. These tips are very useful especially when heating in confined areas that a cutting or two piece...

Looking to buy my first torch

Are you kidding me? You cannot beat a small welding tip for heating items up quickly in tight confined areas without burning everything else that surrounds it. One of his main goals is going to be auto work. An acetylene setup is perfect for what he wants to accomplish.

Looking to buy my first torch

And for what he wants to do an acetylene outfit with several welding tips would be perfect.

Looking to buy my first torch

I would disagree with not going with acetylene. With acetylene you have a wide arrange of welding tips that can pinpoint the right amount of heat where it's needed. Might also want to braze or gas weld as well.

Portable band saw w/ stand or abrasive chop saw

The swag table is nice and I use it for making custom mounts out of flat stock. But for cutting up bar length angle, tube etc the dry cutter can't be beat. If I had to pick only one it would be the chop box.

Would a welding blanket work to contain the sparks?

Portable band saw w/ stand or abrasive chop saw

I'd go with a dry cut chop saw.
