    Affordable Garage Cabinets...

Nice work, they look good. I'm not sure that I would have spent $200 for hinges though, but I'm cheap. :bounce:

Control joints or no control joints ?

Add the control joints, even the best concrete will crack. Even though you have plenty of reinforcement its' purpose is to limit movement on either side of a crack, not stop cracking. A properly cut control joint will make the crack follow the joint. If you're worried about the joint, fill it...

Building a lean-to roof on a standalone building

I don't know where you are located, but I'm pretty sure your building will not pass the local building code. Did you get a building permit? I don't want to discourage you, but I would get the footing and framing inspected before proceeding forward. It may save you a lot of troubles down the road.

    Wacky truss idea

When I built my 3 bay garage I used scissor trusses for the middle bay. There are several ways a premanufactured truss will accomplish what you want without stick building it. Search the site as there have been several threads with pics discussing the same topic. :bounce:

Thanks for all the great advice? I think I'll give the shims and toe kick idea a shot.

    Leveling floor cabinets

I have a few base cabinets that I want to install in my garage but want to get ideas of how other people handled installing them on a sloped floor. This will be used as a wood working area. My floor slopes approximately 1-1/2" in 24'. The cabinets will cover a section about 16' long along the...

    Selling Help

Just my two cents worth, but I'd get swap the first pic to show the wrenches instead of a box. Then I get rid of the two other box pics. Anyone can write a number on the end of a box. I don't see where they add any signifiance to the buyer. :wtf: Drop your starting price to 40-50% with a...

Craftsman 6 pc. Extreme Grip Ratcheting Wrench Set, Metric $20!

Am I reading this wrong? I thought the design of these extreme grip wrenches allowed the user to use a ratcheting motion (it only applies pressure in one direction) not that there was an actual ratcheting mechanism. I'm not sure what your statement about it being more coarse means then. :headscrat

mystery tool , need to be identified. can u help

Hey, I think that's the one I misplaced last year while working on a concrete stretcher and sky hook. :see: I'd sure like to have it back so I can keep it with the rest of the collection. Check the back side and see if it has my user name on it. PS...If you return it, I'll let you borrow it...

I just got my weekly email from HF and it has a $30 off coupon for anything over $300. I thought those that are looking into purchasing a tool box might be interested.

Does anybody have this Harbor Freight tool cart?

I got the 20% off coupon on the 4x4 times forum. It never scans and only works randomly when the clerk manually puts in the code. If that happens, I just have them call the manager and he always puts in the override. No expiration date either:beer:

Does anybody have this Harbor Freight tool cart?

My Hf store has two different tool carts. Stay with the cheaper one, the $159.99 cart just doesn't seem as sturdy. The cheaper cart comes with nylock nuts for bolting everything together and quite rigid. As a precaution though, I smeared the Gorilla glue on the mating steel surfaces. No...

    tool cart..

I said it once and I'll say it again. "I just put my cart together that was purchased a couple of weeks ago. I told the manager that I was out of town when they were selling for $79 and he agreed to let me have it at that price. I bought a few other trinkets and they even let me use a 20% off...

    Your security ideas wanted

Why not use a sliding barn door? They are easy to bar shut and you will not have the worry of a garage door being pushed in by a vehicle. You could also hook up regular garage door sensors at the opening (the ones that reverse the door and turn on the light) to turn on timed floodlights and...

Best way to determine concrete PSI?

Call a material testing company. They can do a swiss hammer test (rebound test)which will be as accurate as you need. It will take all of 10 minutes and is non-destructive. You may be able to rent on at a concrete supply store or tool rental place.

Does anybody have this Harbor Freight tool cart?

The top is 3-3/4" deep. The top two narrow drawers are 1-3/4" deep. The middle drawer is 2-3/4" deep. The bottom drawer is 3-3/4" deep. My 1/2" impact fits in the bottom drawer just fine. Anything bigger, like a DA will go on the shelf underneath. It would be nice if it had a 6 or 8" deep...
