Using sockets with the shop press?

C&C Equipment just posted a video working on excavator hydraulic cylinders. Clint paid $800 for two impact sockets, 3-3/8" and 3-1/2". The big one he says weighs 60 lbs. I doubt this one will find its way into the press. Lol. The big air-powered impact gun packs a heluva punch.

Using sockets with the shop press?

I just watched a C&C Equipment YT video where they used a HF chrome socket on their press to push a shaft back into a JD dozer transmission. They laughed about how the viewers were not going to be happy. No problem. Pushing it out took 10 tons of force (not with a socket). Great channel for...

    killing Zoysia and Bermuda grass

I love my bermuda grass! I transplanted some from my neighbor's backyard over 15 years ago because I wanted a thick hardy turf in an area that was overrun with clover. Yeah, pulled out the clover by hand, no chemicals. Bermuda grass is wonderful for barefoot walking around the edge of the...

    Speed squares

It's not complete without a bottle opener cut into it. Actually. Most good ones already satisfy as a bottle opener. Try it out. 😁

    Speed squares

Stand the speed square on its flat edge and use a feeler guage to see if there is a gap under one side as opposed to the other. If so, you somehow dropped it or crunched it and bowed the aluminum flange on that side. Its not a torque wrench so it isnt typically handled like one, and accidents...

Here it is! Worlds most underwhelming shop!

As an architect, I saw how spray-foam insulation popularity took off over the last few decades. But, recently, I have heard stories of bad spray-foam jobs where open-cell insulation was applied (it's cheaper), and then covered with closed-cell insulation (the stuff you want). This is a bad...

Here it is! Worlds most underwhelming shop!

^^ Exactly my thoughts. Maybe think about stronger lateral wind bracing in the walls. And lighting! Is the bldg metal frame? It looks suspiciously like wood.

ID Help. Old Hand Tool Set

Something I never knew (not a gun owner). Checkering requires these specialized hand tools to create the grip on a gunstock.

ID Help. Old Hand Tool Set

Those handles look like the kind found on metal files. Maybe these tools are hand made and handles were bought separately.

Image posting... and testing.... Give it a go now.

I sometimes have experienced an error messsge uploading a photo taken with my phone. I think it was an image size issue. To work around that, I take a screenshot of the photo and upload that smaller file. No difference in clarity of image. Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. This post...
