3 phase bandsaw. Single phase garage. Best solution?

The KBAC 27D and KBDA 27D will take 120V in and out put enough three phase power for 1.5 hp on 120V in or 2 hp on 240V in.

3 phase bandsaw. Single phase garage. Best solution?

Absolutely. I would love a gearbox saw like that!

3 phase bandsaw. Single phase garage. Best solution?

The huge advantage of a VFD that I love is being able to cut aluminum (~1000 sfm) and wood (~3000 sfm) on a single-speed bandsaw.

    Tap .400 x 28 TPI

Are you sure that the plug isn't a 1/8-27 NPT tapered pipe thread? That would have an OD of approximately 0.4" with a thread pitch of 27 TPI.

Capri CP30032 hex bit socket set vs Home Depot #8-32 3/8 socket cap screws

This is something that annoys me so much as someone who uses socket cap screws constantly. The standard hex sizes for socket cap screws are: #0 - 0.050" #2 - 5/64" #4 - 3/32" #6 - 7/64" #8 - 9/64" #10 - 5/32" 1/4" - 3/16" There should be no excuse for not including these sizes in a "master" kit.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

It's called a self-extracting collet. It prevents the tool/collet/bit from getting their tapers stuck. You just keep unscrewing the collet nut and it pulls the collet from the tool. The only time the bit gets stuck in this kind of collet is when the small nose taper of the collet gets stuck in...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Push the bit deeper into the collet (might take a tap with a block of wood or something) to release the tapers.

    Is real Mapp back?

You are correct. I read your first post of "An expired Trademark" to mean that the trademark timed-out forcefully like patents do, rather than "the holder allowed the trademark to expire" which is what actually happened.

    Is real Mapp back?

The trademark holder declined to renew the trademark when the 10-year renewal came due. My previous statement is still true; trademarks don't have mandatory expirations like patents, they can be renewed indefinitely if the trademark-holder wants to.

    Is real Mapp back?

Trademarks don't simply expire. As long as the trademark holder is using the trademark in commerce, they're entitled to renew the trademark indefinitely. It's always possible that the trademark holder could decide to not renew ownership of the trademark, but there is nothing to force them to...

    Is real Mapp back?

This is an offten misquoted set of numbers for MAPP gas. While the older MAPP gas was indeed noticeably better than the current MAPP-Pro qualitatively, it could only reach the ~5000+˚F temperatures when burned with pure oxygen, much like propane as compared to oxy-propane. MAPP gas in air...

Caveat: that motor is rated at 200V. A motor running off 230V will pull about 15% less current for the same power.

    Quincy Compressor

To paraphrase my previous response: If the pump is designed around a 10 hp motor of a specific RPM, running it on a lower power motor at the same RPM could likely result in the motor failing to start the compressor and/or not being able to sustain the load while running. You'd want to change...

You'd want to change pulley sizes to reduce the piston speed...
