How does Harbor Freight's Hydrostar drain snake compare?

If you have a pressure washer & an outside clean-out, a sewer jetter that hooks up to your pressure washer is an excellent option. A 100' unit can be had for less than $100. The nozzle has three jets facing backward that draw the line into the pipe & one facing forward that once at the clog eats...

    Baldor motor with Grease fittings?

What Davefr suggests looks like a good grease for the job. I would contact Baldor for an interval & amount for greasing as I suspect it is very sparingly. I can't imagine you want to pump a bunch of grease into an electric motor.

My pile-o-air tools, what to rebuild? What else to buy?

I have been a mechanic since the early 90s. Air tools or the cordless stuff is all about production/time savings. I use a 3/8" impact on just about everything. The air ratchet is slower, less powerful, & requires using it as a regular ratchet to break fasteners loose about half the time. I...

My pile-o-air tools, what to rebuild? What else to buy?

The 212 is the 3/8 equivalent of the 231, great impact & still made. I have 2 & been using them for years. Epstein's for a NOS USA-made Cresent wrench. I say all your air tools are brand name & worth overhauling. You may try some PB Blaster air tool conditioner first, especially if they have...

little giant metric tap & die set No. 45 score

I would check the Greenfield website for a distributor near you if you want to stick with Greenfield. That's a score. I really like that style of split dies.

    What's a good bearing separator/puller kit?

McMaster Carr has grade 8 all thread, sold by the inch & foot, in coarse & fine. I suspect most of the industrial supply places have it.

    What's a good bearing separator/puller kit?

That works for the smaller ones, you want fine thread. For the larger ones, you want to get fine thread hardened all thread.

    What's a good bearing separator/puller kit?

Over the course of 3 years starting in 2015, I purchased the following OTC kits & have been happy with the quality. Pretty sure they are all foreign-made & I have used them quite a bit. 1183 bearing spreader/splitter set, 5 spreaders from small to real big 1180 10-ton push/pull set...

    Which hammer am I missing?

Same as a cross peen except the peen is in line with the handle instead of perpendicular. Hope that makes sense.

Crowfoot flare nut vs. traditional flare nut (wrenches)

Those are pretty slick. I bet if SnapOn or similar made those & marketed them correctly, they would sell like hot cakes. As a guy who does heavy equipment often, I would buy them. Especially if that pin is up to the task. They are pretty much exactly my above suggestion of a crow's foot with a...

Crowfoot flare nut vs. traditional flare nut (wrenches)

Those would work well as line wrenches. Stick a 6" extension in there & use just the extension as the handle. Basically in the same position they are sitting in the tray. I hope that makes sense.

Crowfoot flare nut vs. traditional flare nut (wrenches)

A lot of guys don't have or seldom use breaker bars anymore. Mine don't get used often. A flare nut crows foot with a breaker bar attached is as close to a line wrench [flare nut] that you can get. So in your dystopian world where I had to choose just one or the other, I would choose the...

    The Cornwell anguish

You must have never been interested in/been ona Cornwell truck/dealt with a Cornwell dealer. It truly is an odd experience. Very odd indeed. That is coming from a guy who has bought thousands & thousands of dollars worth of tools for myself & the company I work for. I would have gladly...

    The Cornwell anguish

I agree about the dumbing down of society. I believe America is dumber than ever & I don't text AT ALL. I prefer to use the phone for it's originally designed purpose, talking. I live on Afognak Island in the Gulf of Alaska. No cell service ANYWHERE on the island & No landlines either...

    The Cornwell anguish

I could be wrong & way off here, but I can't think of a single other tool company that has a website, but NO way & I do mean ZERO way to purchase tools online. They literally want you to fill out a form to find a dealer to purchase from, which is fine & shows that they support the franchisees. I...
