My biggest concern with the Wolverine products is shipping cost. I was going to purchase some of the 3501...but the shipping was a deal breaker for me.

Precast are in a different category than your typical poured floor. They are able to get precast concrete much denser and it does not need a vapor barrier.

It is doubtful it would ever hold without a vapor barrier (from what I have been told), but there is a test. Take a piece of plastic about a 1' square and duct tape it to the floor. Check it the next day and see if you have any water vapor trapped inside. If you do, the epoxy probably won't...

Me too, I have always wondered why a really thick coat of epoxy on a floor is an advantage.

Their prices seems very competitive, even with the shipping cost.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like oil finishes, but I prefer tung oil...but it is a tad shiny. I own a Kimber 1911 I am pretty fond of, but most all of my handguns have aluminum frames for the reduced weight of carry.

I don't even like it on gunstocks...there are much better alternatives available:)

Well, after reading the comments on here I am second guessing myself. It is much easier to make a decision when you are ignorant of the facts:) I have found a few places in Nashville that actually does the complete work, but I haven't found just a place that sells the product for a diy'er.

Does anyone know of a good supplier of epoxy floor coatings in Nashville Tennessee? I am only about an hour from there, so I thought someone might know of a supplier in that area.

Sounds like good advice. The only problem for me is that to cover most of those bases I am going to have to spend 2k on the floor. If that is what I have to do I guess I will just have to save my pennies:) I only have 1500 sq ft, but that is a lot when talking about the cost of epoxy.
