    Ask Rapidair!

Thanks. I looked at buying the straightener but couldn’t justify the cost so I figured I would try to make something out of items I already had on hand from other projects. It would be nice if rapid air did offer a tool rental, most of us will only have use for the straightener for 1...

    Ask Rapidair!

I have installed the 3/4” rapid air maxline kit in my garage. Actually i have used 2 of the 100 foot kits with some leftover for drops as needed. I am more than satisfied with the performance of the system. My system currently consists of 3 hose reel drops mounted on the ceiling and a...

    My 42X48 Pole building

Thanks for the kind words. I am plugging along with the insulation but became side tracked working on an Audi S4 V8. I have the engine out waiting for timing chain parts. The car and parts are hindering progress on the insulation and walls. I also need to be better about keeping this thread...

    My 42X48 Pole building

My latest progress on the garage has been beginning insulation installation so that I can hang the wall metal. I have missed my window between sweltering hot and bitter cold 🙁. I am installing foil faced rigid foam against the exterior metal held against the metal with wood cleats. I will...

    My 42X48 Pole building

While getting the 2-post up and running, I had a hydraulic bleeder issue. The issue was, I over tightened the bolt and brok it. Fluid shot up and hit the ceiling like a fountain. I was really glad I went with the metal ceiling, cleanup was a non issue. Sean

    My 42X48 Pole building

Once the slab was poured, I then began to place the lifts so I could drill the holes and epoxy the floor. Plans changed and I went from 2 2-post lifts to 1 2-post and 1 4-post lift. Sean

    Slab Insulation questions?

Thanks, lots of hard work and prep that gets covered up by the pour. I know it’s there and it helps me sleep better knowing I didn’t cut corners. Sean

    Slab Insulation questions?

I purchased the panels at FW Webb. When I purchased them I was able to use my brother in-law’s discount as an employee. I don’t recall my exact price, suffice to say, they aren’t cheap. I used the 2” panels which have an overall thickness of 2 7/8”. It is cheaper to use regular flat panels...

    Slab Insulation questions?

Vertical insulation down the sides, then vapor barrier. I then used Crete Heat panels that allowed the Pex to lay into the knob area. Then tied wire mesh on chairs. It’s been a little over 1 year with no cracking👍👍 Sean

    Post your Garage Cat here

The black and white cat actually belongs to my neighbor but hangs around my house and garage. He is great at keeping the mouse population down and is very friendly to me. The 2 maine **** cats are our indoor cats. They each way 20-21 pounds, the orange and white one has a very high prey...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Today I put my Nissan Versa on the 4 post lift to start testing my Hunter P811 alignment machine. The machine was a steal at $5 and is updated to 2011 spec.

    Rapidair leakdown rates?

I have around 150 feet of 3/4" rapidair/maxline run in my garage. I can tell you that the rapidair/maxline does not leak. I can also tell you that with 3 hose reels, a 4 post lift with direct air and my air filter/regulator I lose a small amount of volume over several days. I have a ball...

How many have raised pole barn trusses by themselves?

I’m a one man band most of the time. Poles can be placed by 1 person with some Yankee ingenuity.

How many have raised pole barn trusses by themselves?

I raised the trusses for my 42x48 pole building by myself. I used a 20’ 2x12 on edge strapped to the front of my scissor lift. I used lifting slings from the board to the double truss and lifted them straight up and onto the post tops. The lift platform was able to slide out so I could reach...

3 Proposals Steel Building 30X50 decisions must be made

Of the 3 quotes I like #2 the best. I think the 4/12 pitch roof is more pleasing to look at and will shed snow better. I purchased my building kit through Hansen Pole Buildings. I see that your looking for an all steel building and understand your reasoning. Make sure you factor in the...

Concrete & setback requirements for 4 post lift

This is from page 23 of the installation manual: 7.2 Installation Surface The lift does not require to be anchored to floor. But, despite if it is anchored or not, a level floor is suggested. Any major slope change will affect the level lifting performance. If a floor is of questionable slope...
