Anybody still have their FIRST toolbox?

That craftsman box my dad has had to have bought it around 1969 or so too as he had it a couple years prior to me being born. My first toolbox was a black top/gray bottoms plastic one, a set of stanley screwdrivers, pliers, adj wrench and hammer from a discount store when I was about 12. I...

    Removing awning anchors from wall?

I have old awning anchors and the strip of metal the top hinge slid into. I'd like to remove them. They have large nail head on them and don't want to pry out. Is the best way to just cut them with an angle grinder/cutoff wheel then patch the wall? Wondering if anyone here has any tricks...

    Wire Nuts, pre-twist vs. not

I am not an electrician, but I have worked with wires... that said my biggest issue with pretwisting is many do so and it's too small for the nuts. Now maybe HD/Lowes/etc sells the 'wrong' ones...I don't know. I have pre-twisted and not and had equal failures in my experience. I always pull...

    Wire Nuts, pre-twist vs. not

I need to rewire my workshop soon...as a plus the previous owner used 4 wire romex probably capable of 100 amps everywhere :)...as a con he pulled each run about as tight as you can make it between boxes. To be more clear, you unscrew a box face and it's impossible to move the receptacle at all...

Sprinkler question, rotor not turning until I reduce pressure.

I will probably just buy another one (K2 Smartset by K-Rain), the filter looked fine but I flushed it anyway. The sprinkler will pop up but not turn until I reduce the pressure slightly and restore it. Sometimes it works fine without doing this. Is there anything I can 'clean'? The manual...

    What's a good homeowner multimeter?

I picked up my craftsman for 50% off plus a coupon bringing it down to about $10. I have used it alot, I had bought it to just troubleshoot an a/c system, but since I found many things I can do with it.

Tools That you Wouldn't BUY AKA. Tools that ****!!

HOLY MOLY...I just bought a new jigsaw to replace one of those B&D's with the rotary 'lock' knob. Always fell to a bevel and ruined a cut about 90% of the time. How can they sell this. My new B&D has a very positive lock, I actually tried in the store to move the plate :) My recent review of...

Craftsman 19.2v C3 vs. 20-volt Professional, platform stability?

If I bought a Ryobi tool, would my 19.2 craftsman battery be plug and play? I have had my 19.2 setup (all nicad still) for a long time. The only failure was one charger that I think was user damage rather than manufacturing. My buddy kept palmheel slamming the battery into it. I died...

    Stain vs epoxy....

Thanks...I don't know what happened above...hope it wasn't me. I was looking at that stuff (the oil based one), it seems pretty cheap which is good. They had some that self-etched but it still says to do all the same prep work :) I may do this as I really don't want anything slippery...my...
