Thanks to everyone who replied. Here are pics of the panel, it is a subpanel in a detached garage/shop. The red and black wires in the upper right are 10 ga for the 220 line. The third white wire from the top is the third wire which is now landing on the neutral bar. The last pic shows the...

Thanks! I do have a magnetic starter that came with the compressor and it had been running it in a body shop for the last 20 years or so. I will go ahead and move the third wire to the ground bar....why it was on the neutral bar is beyond me.....

Re: mag starter, thanks to everyone who replied. I am attaching some images. The starter is a Furnas model D 15808. It has a dual voltage coil. Also has two heaters marked H-43, which are rated at 23.1 amps minimum and 26.1 amps maximum. The motor I am using is a Baldor rated at 20.6 amps...

My existing 220 power line has a 50 foot run of 10 ga wire and a 20 amp circuit breaker. My plan was to change the breaker to 30 amps and leave the wire as is...any thoughts...

    quincy 325-10

Has anyone had experience with aftermarket parts for the 325? Mine is going to need rod insert bearings, gaskets, maybe rings. The aftermarket parts are obviously a lot more economical but I wondered if anyone has put them in service and what their experience has been. Also, does anyone know...

    quincy 325-10

Planning on spraying with hvlp after a good cleaning,,,,btw I found out that the cheapo oven cleaner sold at the dollar stores is incredibly good for removing grease, even softens up old paint and makes it easy to scrape or sand off the residue. Must do this out of doors as the fumes are...

Hi guys, I recently scored a working 325 for $300. I want to clean it up and paint it the deep blue Quincy color....does anyone know of a close match in either auto paint or engine enamel? Also need some suggestions on wiring it up...my shop/garage has a 220 line but only 20 amp breakers so I...
