    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Other than the blow mould case (which we can't get separately here), how are people storing their deep cut bandsaws? I just dinged another blade today as it is awkward to store in the cabinet and fell over when i was getting something else out.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

To answer my question, from this photo it looks like it would only fit in the largest packout: And vertically too. So probably not worth it.

Picked up the deep cut bandsaw yesterday: But over here (Aus) they don't come with a case as a skin only. Before i go hunting for a case that someone isnt using, has anyone sorted out a packout for it? Or are they too long?

    DIY Tube Beading Tool

Nice, thats a good simple mod, especially for the smaller diameter tubing that normal swages cant fit.

Below 265 SQ/FT Garage takai - my little do it all work cave [AUS]

Thanks. We actually bought at auction on Friday, so need to start thinking about garage layouts now and building/extending the garage there. 60 day settlement, so a bit of time ahead.

I managed to get some stuff done on the new welding table but didnt take any pictures, so instead here is an update on the Nugget ute: Got back under the ute this weekend as I wanted to get the new exhaust out of the garage and onto the car. That fitted up easily, and no more exhaust leaks...

Because we are getting to the pointy end of buying a new house (actually offering/bidding on properties) I thought it would be prudent to model up what a new garage layout might look like. Started in Sketchup because it was easy to import models. But it is absolutely infuriating to use, so I...

Yeah, i had a white 2WD RZN149 for quite a while, was a very good workhorse. This one is more of a nugget, but will fix up ok. Have ordered a bunch of stuff for it so far. Surprisingly the front CVs look quite good and the swaybar links look ok as well. Will be able to tell more when i get...

Below 265 SQ/FT Garage takai - my little do it all work cave [AUS]

This last weekend i got somewhat distracted from the actual garage work because i bought a cheap ute: For a little while now I have been wanting to replace my old 2WD Hilux with a 4WD one for much the same tasks plus a bit of 4WDing with friends. But it seems that everyone around here wants...

Most of the time in the garage recently has just been sorting stuff and tidying things up. But had a chance to get a few bits done on some other projects over this weekend. First up i had picked up some cheap X and Z axis motors from two people who had bought the wrong kits for their mills...

Feedback/suggestions on welding and fixture table

This is a dedicated welding an fab bench. It will be having dog holes for clamping. Plenty of things I weld are unable to be done with edge clamps.

Feedback/suggestions on welding and fixture table

Will be using 16mm ********* clamps. Picked up this set cheap from a local supplier who was clearing stock https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/W08500 My mill uses 16mm slots and M14 studs so is easily able to work with this setup by machining up some spigots. Overall I think basic 16mm holes will...

Feedback/suggestions on welding and fixture table

Building a new welding and fixture table for my tiny garage, and even with judicious space maximisation it can really only be about 900x600. That said I dont want to spend huge amounts on it and so doing things so that it can be as flexible as possible. I considered just picking up a Certiflat...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Safety glasses. But the Beatles-esque hair from not being cut during lockdown means you cant see the arms over his ears. The stud we are drilling in the lathe is to make a chicago bolt for mounting the new QCTP to the compound. Took the compound off to make measurements easier and explain...

All this time at home has left me with enough time to polish off some of the small tasks relatively easily. The lunchtime job today was to fit the quickchange toolpost to the lathe. The QCTP i bought came with an M16 stud and nut and solid mounting plate for locking it all together. But the...

Who sections off parts of the garage for 'dirty' rooms?

In my previous full garage I had a section at the back which was separate to the car bays and basically used for metal work. Theoretically this kept all of the swarf and grinding dust away from everything else that mattered. In practice I wasnt that good at keeping it all there. Anyway, ive...
