    SouthBend Lathe...it found me

I was actually just reading about the electrolysis stuff for Rust removal. I'm in. I'm going to try it. I don't have any more change gears for it unfortunately... whats in the pic, is what I got. I'll add those to the list though.... the list that gets longer everytime I look at it..

    SouthBend Lathe...it found me

....sigh... no speed change plate. You know of one for sale?:D Going solely off the fact that it looks almost identical to this pic (sans speed change plate, and on/off switch) I believe it to be a 9" Workshop. This thing might just be past the point of making financial sense to...

    SouthBend Lathe...it found me

I dont' know the model for sure. I plan to send off for "the card". The damage to the bed is a major bummer... I didn't even notice it until I was pressure washing. I wonder if it would be cost prohibitive to have the damage fixed? At least the cut. I think the clearanced section will just be...

    SouthBend Lathe...it found me

So the last thing I need is ANOTHER project... and this one is a project indeed. I'm known in my neighborhood, (as i'm sure many of you are) as the "car guy who's always in his garage." I was recently approached by a neighbor whose Stepfather had just passed away. He mentioned that his...

    Garages at Night Thread

...this fing website is making me sick in the head... I took this pic to show a buddy some progress pics, and INSTANTLY thought of this thread when I saw it... ...if I didn't work in five hours, i'd be right back out there cutting, bending, grinding, welding etc...

gunna add this to the "garages at night" thread too... but this pic makes me all warm and fuzzy, and I needed to see it in this one too. ...this is during some seat mount fabrication.

...for the most part... As it turns out, not everybody appreciates mustangs with stroker motors, baja bugs, and demolition derby cars...:dunno: I know the code enforecment folks by name now because of a snooty neighbor who never did come talk to me first... Code enforcement made...

8 Months!?!? Damn this year has been busy... I do have some updates on my project of a house/garage though. Started off with my oldest dog "suggesting" that the single pane windows needed replaced. He was "talking" with another dog outside and knocked out a window... That prompted new windows...

Show off your sheet metal fab projects

Its an 04' 2.2 that's stock as could be....and yup, its destined for the baja bug. I've got the adapter already, and everything else I need to make it run except for the fuel pump. I've never had a buggy with anything other than VW power, so i'm excited to give this a shot. ...and good eye.

Show off your sheet metal fab projects

Jewlery for the wife? GREAT IDEA. I'm gunna make up some stuff to keep in reserve for the next time i'm accused of spending too much time in the garage. That tank's looking impressive as well. LOTS of time i'm sure.

Show off your sheet metal fab projects

More amature hour... but i'm awful proud. I wanted the "cab" of my buggy to be as waterproofed as possible... and decided to make use of the dead space with a storage box. Still in progress obviously. It'll all be sprayed with bedliner to hide my fabrication sins, and to add some sound...

    44 Bikes Frame Shop

I thought about this thread yesterday morning while trucking around on my mtn bike. There is a home visible from one of my often visited single track spots that looks very similar to your shop. Anyway, I dig your shop, and am beyond impressed with your machine/fab work. Your giving me something...

    Can I show off too?

super bitchin shop you've got.... to say the least. And, from the look of the cars you've got rollin' around in there, you take some serious pride in your work. Thanks for "show'n off."

Awesome shop man. I like your LS theme you got rockin. I don't own anything LS... but it sure seems like adding an LS motor to anything makes it just a little better... ...kinda like bacon.

...I love hearing it from the VW guys... even when there isn't much VW left about it...:spit: I found an AWESOME assortment of Casters at Marshals Hardware in Miramar...but the ones on my fab cart are Craftsman ones that were given to me probably 10 years ago.

Thanks for the attaboys. The wife and I learned some hard lessons about the importance of decimal places a few months back... some of my parts needed to be traded for house payments. (A-arm front included) Luckily, I was able to dial back the plans a bit and come up with a pretty cool car...

FINALLY! The whole garage is mine. The bronco that had been "squatting" for the last 3 years has moved on. So, I couldn't help but show all my new elbow room... It should make finishing my bug all the more comfortable. (same bug by the by... just found a cleaner body...)
