    Metal roof over osb

OSB will adsorb water and you will get condensation under the metal roof. Consequently you will need a membrane. I have a 32 x48 garage with metal roof and went with Advan Tech in lieu of OSB and covered the whole roof with high temp water & ice shield then a layer of tri flex. Yes it did cost a...

    Low Clearance Toe Jacks

I have two 5 ton Big Red tow jacks purchased from Northern tool. They both leak oil from the valve stem. Haven't been able to find an o-ring that fits and have had no luck with big red customer service. Never had this problem with any other hydraulic jack.

    calculating steps required

Sometimes you just have to give up some space. I wanted to have a staircase that would make it easy for getting stuff up to and down from the second floor. Went with 4 ft wide with 7.5"rise and 10.5 Tread. My ceiling height is 11 ft and the second floor trusses are 2 ft deep. Most codes also...

    Cooling a 20' shipping container

You are talking lots of $ for solar, kinda sounds like an off grid bug out bunker.

Make a landscaping rake tine ?

I would look for a used one, got mine for a few hundred bucks. One thing that I did find when looking is there can be a big weight difference between brands, I wanted something that was on the heavier side. Found this 5 ft Frontier. The tractor doesn't care that its green.

    Cooling a 20' shipping container

Here is mine, I used Sherwin Williams DTM paint. Just pressure washed it, roughed up the old grey paint with some 40 grit on a random orbit sander and painted. That was about 6 years ago. You are looking at the north side and the trees do keep it shaded. Even in the middle of the summer it...

How can I keep people on my driveway?

You could always do the inside turns like a race track.

    Why no rockwool insulation?

Other benefits of rock wool are its sound deadening and fire resistance properties.

Things that happen in my garage

Nice ride Dan, that setup would be on top of my list if I was in the market. Now you need to take it for a cruise to the county. BTW, post a bunch of pictures of the new lift.

    Don's 32 X 48 Two Story

Not a problem Dan. Put the 4th coat of mud on the walls yesterday and its starting to look pretty good. There are still a few spots that will need a bit of touch up or slight sanding. Plan to do the ceiling today. More lessons learned: When using thinned mud, don't put to much on the trowel...

    Don's 32 X 48 Two Story

Don't know if it will or not Walrus. I have seen problems with cracking, in other buildings with no heat, on interior walls. I have a 3/8" gap between the interior walls and ceiling and hopefully that will mitigate any cracking.

    Don's 32 X 48 Two Story

Thanks Walrus. As far as heat goes, to many other things have landed on my plate so I haven't been working towards relocating the woodshed and setting up the boiler. Would like to get the area prepped though.
