    My version Stickley book shelf

    Red oak definitely has issues with water. The structures of the wood are hollow and water will wick right through it. If you put a short length of red oak in water lengthwise, you can actually blow bubbles with it. Never use red oak in an outside application. I much prefer the characteristics...

    DrivesThanks, the wood is all quartersawn white oak. Those are real through tenons in the case. More details on the build and finishing are provided in the link posted above. I used shelf pins for the adjustable shelves.

    Tubalcain/ Mr Pete was my shop teacher in high school. I still see him around and at auctions on occasion. He is a great guy :thumbup:
