What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Started to strip a 185cc Suzuki TS engine that seized up after years of standing. Water got into the engine which then corroded up. It was a running bike when I stopped using it because I bought a Honda 750K to commute. I will do a complete strip down and rebuild of the whole bike.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

A new cap is on the list. She did start a couple of weeks ago but would not pick up revs / ran unevenly. I then left it due to other commitments. Now she doesn't start at all or give any indication of an attempted start.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Fiddled with a Nissan Hardbody I got from my SIL. It has the VG30E engine but will not start. There is fuel coming to the injector rail, but I do not have a fuel pressure tester to test delivery pressure. Checked for spark, there is spark at the ignition coil, but not at the spark plugs. Still...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Nothing big. Fixed a stick blender. The shaft started to seize up and further use would've burned out the motor.

Buying a tool for ONE job then never using it again?

Price play a definite role in my decision. Deemed too expensive I will either see if I can borrow one, otherwise I will try and make it. Here is a photo of tools I made for a Mercedes E280 V6 I owned. Tool to lock pulley to remove crank bolt, A tool to keep viscous fan from moving to remove...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

To me it feels that I am only reversing my Badger Jeep out of the garage in the morning only to park it in the garage again in the evening. I need the space during the day for other (lets call it chores) duties that have to be done.:(

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cleaned jets of my gas cooker tops (summer is on the way :)). One jet broke in a pipe extension and I had to drill the jet out and re-tap the fitting.

Why you should wear face protection when using an angle grinder.

You guys made me think. **** happens  I Live close to an international airport, how can I prevent an airplane from falling onto my house . OK seriously I agree it is important to wear appropriate PPE. To be honest I am one of those who don't. I usually wear slip slops, short pants...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

OK, I am quoting myself but it is to give feedback. I have since using the air hammer to remove vinyl flooring in my kitchen for long periods of continuous running with on/off switching cycles. There are a couple of hours that it worked since the repair that even I wondered about but I am...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Stripped my air compressor to assess damage after it ran dry because a bodged repair I did for a seal and oil ran out. Con rod ran dry on the cast iron cam, causing it to seize. Con rod is aluminium, no bearings. I contemplated all sort of repair methods - roller bearing, machine con rod to...

Tools to install upper kitchen cabinets by myself

Fully agree. Just removed and re-positioned my own kitchen cabinets using 2 lengths of wood clamped with G-clamps to the cabinet front to act as legs.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Nothing major. - just fixed the power cord of my drill as it would only work if you lifted the cord. One wire has broken off inside the cord about 2 inches from the drill.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Mine is a 63. I have had it for a few years now. You heard this phrase lots of times already: "Yeah I am going to restore it one day." For some reason other things that needed to be done 1st just seemed to pop up and I never got round to Spitfire :dunno: Maybe I did not prioritize it enough as I...

Sunshade fabric wall on my old home. A BuildStory

In SA it is readily available in 50 x 3 meter rolls. I can believe it made a big difference to the inside temperatures of the house. Years ago a made a shade cloth cover for my caravan to use when space under trees were not available. Made a big difference in comfort level in summer time.
