Garage door universal replacement cables properly

Ok so here's what I did: - Pinched the loops to make it tighter - Cut off excess (about 1 ft) on one end and used the 3 hole fixture to tighten and secure with proper tension. This also cuts off the loop at the other end but you don't need it anyway. Thanks everyone for your help!

Garage door universal replacement cables properly

This one is double looped. I pinched them a bit with pliers and that made installing them easier (now they don't fall off while I'm looping them around). I wonder if I should cut off the excess cable (around 1 ft), which would also get rid of the loop at the other end; and then use the 3 hole...

Garage door universal replacement cables properly

Both ends are looped. I haven't tried it but I'm not sure if I can put proper tension via "S" hooks (my door is 7 ft and the cable is 12 ft).

Garage door wire keeps coming off pulley

With the door closed, I cannot attach/detach the cable from the door. It's unreachable with the tracks and door frame in the way. Although now I know better to leave the door closed, I didn't know it then. If you see my OP, my first attempt was with door open all the way. I have learnt since...

Garage door wire keeps coming off pulley

Based on their video, this one should have only one spring on the right side. But yeah, if it’s broken then I guess cables are not the issue.

Garage door wire keeps coming off pulley

So I wound up the cables and attached them to the door. But after lowering the door back, the cables look like these So I can’t really try your method.

Garage door wire keeps coming off pulley

Just saw this and looks like I may have a broken spring. Although the door opens and closes without the cables, so I'm little puzzled by this.

Garage door wire keeps coming off pulley

The right side cable had come off completely when I noticed it. Left was still attached to the door. Door goes up and down (it's not smooth but works) with the opener so it's hard to tell now what position were they in when it happened. I had the door open all the way when I tried winding the...

Garage door wire keeps coming off pulley

Garage door noob here and sorry if this has been answered before. A few days back I noticed my garage door wires coming off the pulley. I detached the wires and wound them up properly but as soon as I was done, the rod just moved and the wires came loose again. I tried locking the rod with...

    Repainting painted garage walls

The color didn't improve much. They probably need another layer of skim coat or maybe 2 coats of 123 primer (might get away with 1 coat if I use Cover Stain). I skimmed 2 other walls with mixed results. Some show the brown coloring and some don't.

    Repainting painted garage walls

Probably its just dirt. They work fine and I didn't see anything when I took the cover out.

    Repainting painted garage walls

Rookie mistake. Should have primed it first I guess. This is just skim coating with joint compound. The walls are still damp. I'll wait for 24 hours and see how they turn out.

    Repainting painted garage walls

This is how it was before I took the shelf down and applied mud on it. There was greater carnage behind the shelf - nail holes, black scuff marks, uneven tape and stains. I guess this is due to old age? If so, spot priming (with BIN) or maybe going with an oil/shellac based primer as opposed...

    Repainting painted garage walls

Its a fresh new bucket of SHEETROCK Brand Plus 3 Lightweight All-Purpose 4.5 Gal. Pre-Mixed Joint Compound. If you see my previous posts, similar thing happened with the 123 primer. I got a brownish hue.

    Repainting painted garage walls

So I tried skim coating one of the walls. The black scuff marks are gone but water stains bleeds through. Also, does anyone know why it all became brown instead of white? It hasn't been 24 hours yet (more like 4-6 hours) but somehow I don't think its going to turn white.

Garage floor painting - uneven concrete blocks

Actually you can just peel off the sealant with a sharp pick or even a screw driver. Far easier and cleaner. I did work most of the high spots. These are some of the outliers.

Garage floor painting - uneven concrete blocks

Wow, I have heard similar things for the cheaper EpoxyShield. I had second thought about RockSolid but good to know they are no better. You're right about cracks. I've filled them all and I know epoxy is going to show through them (instead of covering it completely). And hopefully the 2.5 car...
