I Need a New Caulk Gun

I have a Cox "extra thrust" caulk gun, made in England (IIRC) that is over 20 years old. The design has since been copied and knockoffs are available at the box stores. Also have a Tajima that works nicely.

Help with ECM blower. Solved. Plus how Goodman 9 speed works

Bypass the thermostat and jumper out "fan", "heat" and "ac" and see if the fan motor acts up. Turn off the AC circuit breaker or disconnect so the condenser doesn't run.

Help with ECM blower. Solved. Plus how Goodman 9 speed works

This does not sound normal. My guess is that the motor is turning off on thermal limit or there is some other electrical issue.

Unhappy with new HVAC. WAY too loud!

Without seeing the system, or hearing it, it is pretty difficult to figure anything out. I have never encountered a system that has a noisy fan motor. Noise has always been caused by something else, like too much air or not enough ductwork. Even cheap systems with a filter box in the wall right...

Advice for a machine to weld aluminum

I recently took a short welding class and tried out a Miller Multimatic 220 on aluminum. Don't remember the exact thickness, but ~14 ga (0.064") seems about right. I found it to be super easy to TIG clean welding coupons together, as did most others there with some TIG skills. Definitely...

    Heavy-Duty Fabric Garden Hose

Unless the manufacturer chabged something, I have always had issues where the Flexzilla hoses develop spots and turn a nasty brown/black color. I do not buy them any longer. I coil mine up, but they still sit on the ground. Maybe different storage is better. Currently using a Dramm yellow...

    Propane monoblock air conditioners

People think that a regular Mitsubishi unit is expensive. That one is probably 50% more, just as a guess. Will not be for the typical cheapskate USA HVAC customer. That system in the video likely eclipsed $100k.

    Propane monoblock air conditioners

Absolutely nothing of substance, just some slick animations and renders. That's an understatement.

    Propane monoblock air conditioners

The numbers can't be good. Sounds like an air source heat pump with a plate heat exchanger for the fluid going into the house. An internet search yields a typical COP for air source heat pumps to be 3-4 on average. Now there's another heat transfer medium... and losses. Both for the fluid...
