I have a set at work and I hate them. I'd rather use just about any type of handle over those.

Check out the vinegar/salt de-rusting thread. That would be a great candidate for that method. Once it's clean you can paint/grease it.

That is an awesome find! York vices are very nice. Are there any markings on it to help identify what model/year it's from? That should clean up very nicely too.

That was one of the 1st purchases I made years ago when I first needed tools. Best value for what you get. Esp if you can find one still USA made. I don't think I've ever posted up the one I built in my garage. It's narrower that I would like, but space was at a premium so I made it 18" deep. It was one of the 1st things I did when I bought this house (my 1st). Next house will have a bigger garage and a bigger bench!

The different color heads are removable and are made of different materials. There are at least 5 replaceable heads and they are all color coded to know which is which. ;)

The industrial ones that I have are long pattern wrenches vs standard length for the full polish pro series.

I just got a couple of the ball peen and the soft face hammer and I like them so far.
