    Metal/Vinyl Roofing?

What pitch would you use to describe a roof that has a 1 foot drop per a 12 foot run?

    Metal/Vinyl Roofing?

Pretty much. If you look at the plan the existing roof ends at 9' off the deck surface. With the 2x6 rafters and the roof substrate the inside ceiling will be 8.5' at it's highest and end at 7.5' on the lowest part with a 1/12 pitch. If I go 2/12, then the lowest part will be 6.5' which will...

    Interior motion lighting questions.

Make sure the motion switch you get has a electronic ballast so that it works with florescent lighting. Even if you don't have any now, you will in the future since this is the way lights are going. The package will specifically say it has an electronic ballast and will work with florescent...

    Metal/Vinyl Roofing?

I guess it sounds like the metal roofing is out and rolled roofing is in. It's only a starter house so no use going crazy. It's amazing what 300k will get you in NJ vs other places though. :( I'm confused by the 'rolled roofing will leak' comment. That's pretty much what they use around here...

    Metal/Vinyl Roofing?

I'm told that rolled roofing is better used in areas with a low pitch instead of normal shingles.

    Metal/Vinyl Roofing?

How do you think it compares to the cost of rolled roofing? Because of the pitch of the roof, that would really be the alternative.

    Metal/Vinyl Roofing?

I'm going to be building the roof over the existing deck myself and I was having a contractor put a new roof on my house since it's leaking at the same time. I'll have to figure out what order the house roof vs porch roof gets done in if I go with the metal roofing. Any idea what these cost?

    Metal/Vinyl Roofing?

I'm building a 12x17 screened in porch on an existing deck and my roof is going to have a 1' drop over a 12' span. The idea now is to hire out someone to install a rolled roofing, but I was looking at something like this instead. I tried to contact a few places but they are only interested in...

VCT Garage Floor After 3 1/2 Years (Photos)

I installed white VCT in my basement but never sealed the tiles. After a few months of traffic the tiles started to yellow and I wasn't able to restore them even with the buffer I used. I ended up buffing them as best as I could then putting the VCT sealer over them.

See anything wrong with my sink drain vent?

I have one of the cheap $6 vents under my sink because the vent pipe in the wall is cracked so the previous owner removed it. Would one of these $25 ones work much better?

    Mini-split heatpumps in winter?

I was on LG's site earlier and the unit says it runs down to 5F, but no mention of how efficient it is. I did see however, that now they have a 4 zone unit too.

    Porch in Google SketchUp?

I currently have a 12x17 deck off my house that I want to put a roof over and screen in it. I want to get moving on the permits because I need to put a roof on the house anyway. I have 2 decking books where I got all my beam/load information from. I've sketched up a top and side view on...

    Mini-split heatpumps in winter?

Thanks for the responses! I don't feel like chasing down the information from LG, I was more looking for some general information found in this thread. Since only half the house has the heat pumps, it's kind of a moot point since I have to run the steam system for the other half since it's all...

    Mini-split heatpumps in winter?

I have 2 LG split systems, each with 3 zones for a total of 6 zones in my house. The one setup is 3.5 years old and the other was just installed this month and has heat built in. At what point are these no longer efficient to run to heat your house? I have steam radiators so this was more...

If 12 people give you advice in a nice way and you get upset because of 1 person being a **** about it, then maybe the internet isn't the place for you.

Small claims court questions - Being sued!

That sounds like BS that they can sue you 3 years after the sale unless you deliberately hid something. It's not like they bought a new house either. I could make a list of things I found wrong with my house over a few years of ownership.

4x8 shed against wall - with pictures!

A new garage is out of budget right now but I want to build something similar behind my 10x20. There is already a pad, but it's in rough shape since it's cracked up in the center so I was deciding what to do. What did your build end up costing?

    My sweet 10x20 "M" Garage

The wheels are 18x10 SSR's with Nitto NT01 racing wheels on them. The car normally has 19" CSL wheels on it. http://www.scotts-basement.com/Gallery2/d/12592-2/IMG_0146.JPG Like you said ///M is the designation of the Motorsport division which handles all the racing...

    My sweet 10x20 "M" Garage

Thanks! It's quite the conversation piece. Even more rare is the alcantra interior that I have. Not my picture, but its the same interior. I think it was only offered in the 05 Competition. The car itself has a ton of modifications and sees regular track duty. Taken at Monticello a few...

    My sweet 10x20 "M" Garage

The problem with 12' is that I think its tight when trying to jack up the car from each side, or will be very tight. Plus no loft. My dad had a 12x28 when I was living at home and even with the car in there we did fit a lot of **** in there. Any link to where you can get kits from? I got a...
