That was my understanding at the time. They used to sell the same tools in black or yellow. I had a 1/4 sheet orbitals, and 3/8" drills that were the same in different colors.

Beautiful vises! I need a 2C &3C to round out my Reed combination vises. I see yours has the early ball, and forge welded jaws.

That is a shame. A piece could be fitted but it is going beyond "worthwhile", since it may have to be rebored. Not that any of us has ever done anything that wasn't worthwhile .....

Mr. Wilton, if you have all your pieces, why not braze it back together?

Is that a #106, 6 incher? It looks like the base is 1 1/8" thick. Great vise!

The cheapest hammerless double they made was the Trojan, so it was definitely one they used.

Jason those look like good vises. I missed one by a couple minutes a few weeks ago at a flea mkt. A guy was rolling it around when i got there, and bought it for $50... I didn't know Parker had anything to do with them?

I found an older 4C in Erie for $175. It has the forge welded jaws, and pear shaped screw ball. It doesn't have a swivel base, but I am planning to put it on a pedestal when I find a heavy enough base. Later I found a 1C at the flea market for $50. It was weld spattered up, so I cleaned it up...

I got a pretty good one this morning. It is a 6" #155 Ridgid 61 CPN combination vise. I think this is a Desmond Stephan made one? I know some of you guys have studied Ridgids, and my memory is not the best. Has anyone figured out who made which Ridgids when? Was Desnond first, then Columbian...

Those are both pretty cool designs, and very useful for the average guy. The Wilton that pivots over, would be useful when you want to set something up parallel on the bench before you squeeze it. I seem to do that a lot, and regular round tube Wiltons make it more difficult than a square beam vise.
