    The VISES of Garage Journal

You guys come up with some interesting stuff, and Zoomie, that is incredible, getting 3 unused vices, and one of them a Parker! I got this little Athol 88 off of Ebay, and wondered if WWIIJeep or anyone has a catalog with this model? It is just a cool little vise, made with the same design...

    Newbie intro rant

Dan, I am kind of similar, in that I read a lot and don't post much. You are lucky to have a wife that supports your interests. Mine does too, but she doesn't understand vises, anvils or chainsaws. She hunts, so she likes guns, but only as tools. When I was researching old knives, she took to...

    snap on black non impact???

About 90% of what they buy where I work, are industrial finish, but the reason is cost. Wrenches and ratchets too. I like them better, in that they are not as slippery.

There are a few chain vises on here. They are pretty desirable I think. http://www.iforgeiron.com/topic/21016-fisher-dbl-screw-vise/page__hl__+chain%20+vise#entry215728

    Worst Vise Repair Ever ...

It is not pretty, but this concept of "pretty garages" is kind of a recent concept, relative to the age of that vise. I think Carla named a likely scenario, but it could be one of many, that involved spending your weeks take home pay on a new vise. I think a heavy sledge was involved in the...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

The past couple weeks have been good to me. I drug home a 5" leg vise, a light duty Erie Tool Works, a 4" Holland 24, a 5: #115 Parker 435 AND a #185 Reed 4C! The leg vise layed out in the weather for years, but the crew and box are in fine shape, dried grease saved them. The Hollands was off a...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I got a good one at a flea market today. It is a Starrett 924. I wasn't planning to spend more than a few dollars on odd tools, after just coming home from 2 days at the Case knife show. He wouldn't budge off of $75, but he did agree to throw in the extra heavy Williams C clamp. Someone was...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Hello vise nuts, I am a newbie here. A few weeks ago, I picked up a vise I hadn't heard of, and found this site, while trying to research it. It took me a couple weeks to get through this thread, and I only saw one Fulton Machine & Vise Co. Lowville NY picture, back on page 132 post 2635. Here...
