Do you have designated "abuse" tools?

Oh yeah. I've got home "tool box" tools and a work "tool bag" tools. The tool bag tools have a tendency to grow legs here at work.

    Metal Halide lights 110 or 220 V ?

Most of the one's I've seen can be wired @ 120 or 240 (I have some for sale that can be wired @ 120/208/240/277). Word of advise though. Don't run a 400W @ 120. The amp draw is massive @ 120

My Matco guy ***** major leaague balls

Does anybody know the potential income of a SO or Matco truck? A couple years ago, I had a friend that wanted to do it, but he didn't have any cash and came to me to be a "partner". I told him to do the research and lets look at it. He got a promotion (and raise) at his job about a week...

    New garage lighting system

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've been considering this for my basic 2-car garage. My garage has 1 junction box for lighting and it is located in the front 1/3rd of the garage. I installed an 8' T8HO fixture there and it has been ok, but nothing spectacular. Has there been anybody with...

    Shipping Container Garage

Yeah, they are pretty rigid. I ship somewhere around 10 containers a day (through the Port of Oakland) and have welded on them many times (when they show up with holes in them). I'm sure something could be worked out though with interior bracing (of the cut open container). I get these...

    Shipping Container Garage

:shocking: In all seriousness, check with your local building department as I'm sure those haven't been engineered for the purpose you've intended here, especially after hacking them apart.

    3 ?

I have a miller 140 (110v). It does ok, but is limited in it's abilities. Advice - buy all the welder you can afford, but do so in a 220V version. If I had it to do over again, I would buy a 220V machine.

Opinions on HF US General tool chest

I picked up the bottom box about a month ago. With a little work (sign up for the HF club) you can get the bottom box for about $320. I paid $349.99 as I got a coupon in the mail for it and my local HF was out of the "Club" paperwork. Eventually, I want to add the top box and side locker, but...
