Husky / Stanley 3/8" Extendable Locking Flex Head QR Ratchet

That is my favorite ratchet that I can afford. It is just so handy. I don't think there is a better engineered ratchet out there.

    Opinions on covering a chimney

Nice Idea I'll run it by my mother dukes the only thing about mounting cabinets to the ceiling is that the ceiling height is around 81/2 to 9ft in the kitchen. The fridge is located more to the right on the picture it is not visible because of a wall is blocking it.

    Opinions on covering a chimney

bighead51 that is what I'm talking about but instead of the bulkhead I mean threw the outer wall from the basement maybe all the way up to the roof depending on code. Thing is code is pretty hard to find I did a google search and didn't really find a website with all the construction code...

So it can be done! I need to research a little bit more. I need to figure out how to re-route the heating vent that is along side the chimney.

    Opinions on covering a chimney

I would like to re-route the heater vent as well maybe along side the wall in a sofit like you mentioned or threw another room re-routed from the basement. The B-vent seems like a good idea. I was curious why I couldn't use tin? is it because of leaks? because there is duct sealant which...

    Opinions on covering a chimney

rlitman It is a real chimney however it is only used for the gas water heater's carbon monoxide to exit the house and the home central heater also has a pipe fixed into the chimney probably for the same thing, although I'm not sure. Removing the chimney sounds interesting. I just need to figure...

    Opinions on covering a chimney

I have a chimney and a heating duct standing side by side as you can see in these pictures that I uploaded. I am not personally doing this project however this is for my mother. She either wants to cover the chimney and duct with a box frame like a sofet and cement decorative stone onto the...

    Pics of everyones garage/workbench setup

HSpencer that is a nice setup. It looks like it wouldn't be to hard to clean the saw dust from table saw since the bench is in the middle. Jeffmoss thanks for the link now I have a lot of pics to view.

    Pics of everyones garage/workbench setup

Hi, I know there is a picture thread of tool boxes however I was hoping to see every ones work bench setup or working area. How it is organized or planned out and the creativity behind your setup. To me that is the essence of Garage Journal. I know there is a garage gallery but the photos are...

    Ceiling fan

Sweet I understand now both wires and the one wire connecting to the outlet are all combined in a wire nut and only one sticks out which gets connected to the switch leg thank you. This forum is kickass.

    Ceiling fan

Cool, just curious the outlet switch leg has one available hot slot. How do I connect both hot wires (ceiling & fan) to the switch leg? Do I just splice?

    Ceiling fan

Hi I am installing a ceiling fan on old construction. I want to use two light switches for more control. I was told in order to wire the ceiling fan to two switches I need 14/3. I happen to have 14/2 is there another way of going about this? I was also told to get my power off of a receptacle...

Running a 20AMP circuit to backyard

I had another question I guess they just don't stop coming. I am installing a ceiling chandelier/big light in a hallway and the light comes with a lot of extra wire. Three feet away from the light is a hot wire that I was going to splice into which used to be used for a wall light. I was...

Running a 20AMP circuit to backyard

Yes I meant "in" but when you're speaking in general terms I believe "on" is correct. When I said to "run wire" which means the wire is being installed or routed threw the wall correctly meaning "in" and the "on" is the selection of the outer wall you know what I mean? anyways thanks for the...

Running a 20AMP circuit to backyard

I had another question. Is it against code to run wire on an outer insulated wall? If not, is it recommended to avoid insulated walls?

A wrench is but a wrench...

I have mostly craftsman and husky but I do have a Mac and I noticed it is thinner than all my other ones it is a 14mm and to be honest I like to use it because it feels more comfortable however, could never justify buying new wrenches such as snap on that is to pricey of a comfort for me way...
