Yet Another Snap-on Tool Chest Restoration

Hey bud, nice box, it looks like it has some great character! If you're removing the stickers, take pictures of them for placement purposes. I would take a lot of pics/ measurements of the initials, it would be a great thing to re-create as we. There's tons of Ebay sellers with snap on/mac...

    Please ID this box

I used a soft nail cut down and then peened the cut end down on my little vise for a slide that had a broken rivet. It holds the spring steel clip just fine. Just an fyi, I would look for your model # on the backside of the chest, then give Snap on a call or email their customer service. It...

somebody recommend a REALLY good wash mit..

I have SUV's and pick up trucks. Washing them with a mitt got real old real fast. I have a Montana boars hair brush that hold tons of soap suds and is very soft. I bought a good wooden broom handle and voila, easy truck washing. I have 2 mitts, both Mequiars microfiber, I like the Megs...

Help? What is this Snap-On box model?

Yep, my boxes have the Masonite pieces with holes to run bolts through to tie the chests together. It's kind of a black shiny material one side and unfinished on the other. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Were to find SO roller box?

Patience, checking the sale ads, craigslist and ebay everyday. I've found my KR537/557's on craigslist, and didn't pay a 100 bucks for them. Intact functional boxes usually go for around 200-700 bucks in my area. Mine were pretty rough cosmetically so it was either live with the rust, dings and...

Help? What is this Snap-On box model?

Nice find! Snap on replaced slides for me, they requested old ones sent back to them (they paid shipping) 2 weeks later I got new slides. I was upfront in my request and offered to pay for the parts and they still sent them for free. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

Opinions on this used Mac Tool box

If it were me, I'd do 250.00 if the slides worked and the drawers weren't too badly tweaked. I like these old Mac's they are tough old boxes and would look great next to an old car/hot rod with some elbow grease. Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

Exhaust hanger removal tool from snap on

Yup, short pry bar, lube it up and pop it out. I hated exhaust work, in Michigan in the winter time when everybody's frickin' muffler decides to fall off! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Would you sell a Snap-On 40" bottom to get a matching Craftsman Industrial bottom?

Re: Would you sell a Snap-On 40" bottom to get a matching Craftsman Industrial bottom Your wife sounds like a great gal. I would keep the Snappy box. The friction slides take some TLC but I've found they can be smooth and sturdy if the slides are in good shape. Parts are probably available...

    Snap on box good deal?

I have 2 KR557s and a KR537, and that seems like a lot. If it was jammed with all truck brand tools and was in mint condition I couldn't justify the price. These boxes are rugged and charming if you like old school design, but it would be tough working out of one on a daily basis. It seems...

    Small in-vehicle socket set

I've had more problems with trailers than my cars, so maybe a good breaker bar and socket for the lugs, bulbs, a good spare tire for the trailer, wire repair tools for the lights, maybe a small grease gun. Trailers are probably the most neglected pieces of equipment I see on the road. For the...

Anyone make a work top for their Harbor Freight 44" Box?

Yep.. my father in law is a retired master carpenter and made one for my birthday last year. It's oak, and has been a very nice surface. I can't remember what he said he spent in materials, but it was under 100.00 bucks. I snap a pic when I get home Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

    Let's see your toolbox.

Here's a couple from the bottom box. I'm playing with my organization, the HF box is the one I work out of in my little home shop. The liner for the drawers is Harbor freight which pretty close to the old Snap On stuff that was in it. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
