There's no COO, damn it! Ratchets only shouldn't be too much difficult to find, I sometime see NOS on ebay but complete sets (at least OGV) :headscrat. I'm not sure that my father's sockets have France on it, and they're 15-20 years old... Thanks! It's strange, according to the map, torque...

    Tools from the old world

Yes this packaging seems quite old, the only one I've seen before is a from a set of pre-OGV combination wrench, so probably 20 years old... Well, Facom have more and more stuffs made in asia but it seems that the "basic" tools are still made in europe? I wonder about their sockets and ratchets...

    Tools from the old world

Mmmmm:drool: Each time I tell myself, "I promise I won't buy any Facom, it's not a european manufacturer anymore", I think about these locking pliers and say, "they can't be completly bad if they produce such things". Very nice purchase!! Btw, Monte you have a T5.L locking plier I think, do...

    Tools from the old world

I thought they had a lifetime warranty for a good reason :) Sure! Just tell me how many you will be for diner tonight please, it's getting crowded here, nobody can go to Bruxelles, Namur,... for their christmas parties because the highways are closed. So my mum's guest list is getting longer...

    Facom Tools

You already know about my addiction... I promise that I'll try some German drugs next year (I already do with power tools!) :bounce: My dad has a 1/4 set in box since 15-20 years, it's not the same as current box (light grey), hinges don't crack and have been used hundreds times. Facom seems...

    Tools from the old world

Same for me, no COO on my chiseldrivers, stubbies, nutdrivers,... nor on the box, maybe I've not looked carefully enough (do we have to open the handle with a knife :headscrat )... Well, I will have another one for sale, I bought 2, one for me and one for my brother as his christmas gift but I...

    Facom Tools

Monte is right, buy something else! Facom only make pieces of sh**, your disapointment seems normal :bounce: That said, sorry to see that your set has been messed up by a crazy Facom machine

    Tools from the old world

I didn't notice the difference between the writings, you have sharp eyes  Maybe they started to produce them somwhere else, or just marketing :headscrat It seems very well done for a copy but difficult to know even when having them in your hands... Concerning the Facom torx socket it...

    Facom Tools

Hi R25_GTS Sorry to see that you have some problems with your new Facom set! I compared with my 1/4 set (R.2A) and half of what you say seems normal to me, the other one doesn't. Play with socket+extension+handle: I have a few degrees of play, it makes little "clic" when I shake them but it...

    Tools from the old world

Looks nice! but I like them with a longer shaft, so I can put one hand around it and control my moves more precisely, I mostly use die grinders for cylinder head jobs so precision is quite usefull :) I like the Makita GD0600, probably not as strong as the Bosch but seems fine for what I do <a...

    Tools from the old world

Actually I bought the PH3 chisel screwdriver separately to complete the set. Concerning the stubbies, I had to wait about a month to get them as the ebay seller didn't have all of them in stock and had to order some, it would explain the logo difference. Héhé, this weekend, this weekend...

    Tools from the old world

@ Monte My mum asked me to buy a bench grinder, basically to sharpen her gardening tools, lawn mower blades,... or more precisely to have me do it. As I killed our old chinese bench grinder (150W) last week grinding some stainless steel, I would like something more robust... She want to spend...

Is sandblasting this with this possible?

I have this kind of blaster (the 90lb version), I guess this one works quite in the same way but in smaller... I blast motorcylcle's frames without problems, it's quick and neat, ready to paint! Air consumption with pressurized blasters is really lower than in venturi type (such as in blast...

:bounce: Would you guys remember what you paid for these knives? just to compare with Bessey's price, as teir clamps are not cheap I guess that their knives aren't either... Nice hammer! Is it just a copper (bronze?) coating on it or is it made of copper (bronze?) Thanks for the links...

    Tools from the old world

:) Not yet, but I'll take some pics next week-end! Actually it has its place in this thread, it's made in Belgium! Probably my only belgian tool... Hi! I can't be 100% sure but I think it's made in Switzerland, it has "Swiss" on the handle but no "made in...". I know that watch-maker can...

@ Servito, nice avatar! however, new minis are for girls or metrosexuals :lol_hitti just kidding @ Automatique: There is no COO on the knife, at least that I've noticed, so Hazet is probably right, chinese... at least Farnell's website says China but it's not always accurate. That said, it...

Now the "power" tools Bosch GHG 660 lcd heat gun I haven't tried it yet on the battle field but heat and flow seem well regulated, I don't ask more than that <a href="http://s739.photobucket.com/albums/xx39/cantause/?action=view&current=IMG_0926.jpg" target="_blank"><img...

    Tools from the old world

Hi guys! As I told you a few pages back, I was waiting for some european tools that I purchased, now that I've received some of them... showtime! Let's start with some hand files, I didn't have any so I bought some Vallorbe files, it's quite a reputated brand I think. At least they're well...
