    Show your new tool arrivals

I liked my Eklind bright torx keys so much I got the matching Metric and Inch hex sets to replace my partially complete Craftsman Inch and Kobalt Metric folding hex set. Those two will now live in the emergency kit.

Winalign V9 under XP SP2 not install good

Make a blank .txt file and rename it to HComQualityDb1.cpp. There's a slim chance you just need the presence of the file and not the content. At the very least it should change the error message.

DIYer which mid-torque impact gun to buy?

You will not need a breaker bar with the mid torque unless you're working on trucks with more than 8 lugs. Milwaukee fuel impacts are a great choice. I went for 1/2 because I invested in 1/2 impact everything. Makes more sense to me to have more meat on the anvil, but if you already have 3/8...

Labeling Sockets in Organizer? OCD is killing me

And if it's a little bit funny sized, it's probably a metric.

    1/2” or 3/4” impact wrench?

A high torque 1/2" has enough beans to easily handle 22mm, I'm jamming 36mm axle nuts off and on no problem with mine.

Found a great deal on husky wrenches

No 16mm but you get a 19/32" wrench. Help me understand.

milwaukee m12 polishing and sanding tool question

Use an impact driver or drill and pick up one of these kits: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09835SQ62/?tag=atomicindus08-20 There are very many different kits of a similar style with various pads and brushes, I just picked that one as an example.

    Combo/ratcheting reccomendations

Absolutely, the ratcheting mechanism necessarily makes the box end thicker and sometimes it doesn't fit in tight spaces. Also if you're approaching the torque limit of a 12pt box end, using the non-ratcheting is probably the better option. Theoretically you shouldn't be able to break the...

Winalign V9 under XP SP2 not install good

It sounds like the problem is with that macromedia install failing. You could try looking through the files on the disk to install it separately, maybe right click and install as admin or in a compatibility mode. Try looking at the folder where it's installing files to for a more detailed error...

My ADD kicked in this AM. I might qualify for my first you ****.

Hmm, I don't even need that stuff either but I'm preemptively giving you a you **** because that is an absolute haul.

PB Swiss or Wera- putting together a set

Both brands are good, so it really comes down to what handle style he likes. Maybe buy one of each and decide on a set from there.

    NPT Tap Advice

I'm in Washington, I appreciate the offers but I do want the capability and experience of tapping my own threads. McMaster Carr hooked me up with some excellent Viking twist drills that I used to deepen the holes for tap clearance and they cut through the aluminum like butter at 140rpm. Final...

Dang, maybe they should open an American facility and make tools there to increase sales. Oh wait.

    Show us your portable toolbox!

My to go setup is primarily an extended version of my roadside kit and it's usually for hitting the junkyards. I have a packout box that is about half filled with my standard set, and half is available for specialty tools. This trip was light duty with maybe a steering wheel: Wrench roll is...

Do these pliers look new to you?

I would also find it hard to believe all that came from shipping. I'm guessing it was purchased, never used but bumped around in a dirty toolbox, then returned.

Mower Purchase/Zero Turn and Stander Decision

Dang that's some fancy stuff. Y'all would've been real upset with my old toro lawn tractor after the methhead neighbors rammed it into a tree stump and broke the steering. I flipped some stuff in the linkage upside down and got it to turn left and almost return to center, got a season and a half...

    Drill Press wobble

I like my cheapo indicator: https://www.grizzly.com/products/grizzly-magnetic-base-dial-indicator-combo/g9849 Probably the same one as all the others, came in a nice protective case.

    Drill Press wobble

Clean and reseat the chuck would be an easy and cheap thing to do. You're going to need a dial indicator and a means of holding it still to positively identify where the problem is. Even a $40 combo one will suffice for this purpose.
