    My New 24x40 Shop Build

5 years of wear and tear, I just saw my workbench (a couple posts up) for the first time in a couple of years lol. Upgraded the compressor to a Champion and mounted it on the loft (temporarily until I can build a shed for it....3 or so years agol) Racedeck gave up its luster years ago. It...

    leaky tires

It's cheaper to put in tubes, but easier to just buy foam filled tires. They're increasingly popular, and you should be able to find them at just about any lawn and garden center.

If you were going to buy a new scan tool!

Just traded my Solus Ultra in for a Solus Edge. Free promotional Euro software and adapters, right at upgrade time made it a no brainer. The Edge boots and loads so much faster, plus with WiFi and Suretrack right on the scanner, it can be a real time saver.

    Wiring question

It's just easier to run 12/3 romex... But yeah, if you're on a 20 amp breaker, you need 12 gauge.

    Big Maxx Garage heater problem

I hate to jump the gun, but it's most likely your circuit board. After 3 years of flawless operation, mine went 2 weeks ago. Mine was visibly scorched behind the ignitor. Customer service shipped out a free replacement right away.

    CARiD.com

Buyer Beware! Items show in stock, when they are actually drop shipped from manufacturer. "Free" Shipping vanishes during final checkout, and actual charges expose exorbitant shipping fees. Estimated shipping times are completely bogus, and refunds are next to impossible to get. Just try to...

First hand experience with Lochinvar Cadet boilers?

I installed my Lochinvar Knight boiler along with a Squire indirect 5+ years ago and have zero complaints. The heat exchanger looks the same from the pictures, but I only tend to research when I'm in the market. At the time, the Knight was my only consideration for a condensing, modulating boiler.

    SO Box Nirvana Weekend

I leave mine on as a reminder that I should have spent the extra $600 for an Epiq. A deal that likely won't repeat :lol_hitti

Hydraulic flaring tool or hub grappler

I have the hydraulic flare kit: http://www.tooltopia.com/mastercool-71475prc.aspx and the Harbor Freight hub puller kit. I have never actually found much use for the hub kit, other than using the plates on the press lol. There's not a single case of all of the press in bearings where I would...

    Tips needed: Sway bar links

Quote high, and adjust down when done. If nothing pops up, customer walks away cheaper than the quote, happy. If Murphy's Law prevails, customer "gets a deal" since there's more parts and roughly the same total bill, and is happy. The best customers are the ones that understand ****...

Out of these two hose reels...which one would you pick?

Has anyone used these brands as well as the harbor freight reel? I have 2 from HF and haven't had an issue other than damaged hose ends. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem paying top dollar when it's worth it, but I can't see how those are worth 3-5 times the amount of the HF ones.

How often is a 3/8 to 1/2 drive adaptor used?

I use mine - 1/2 to 3/8, 3/8 to 1/4 when measuring rotational torque on pinion installs.

    quick grab impact wrench storage/holster?

http://store.snapon.com/Workstation-Accessories-Rack-Power-Tool-P649385.aspx I have mine hanging on the inside of the door on my docker locker, but it could hang off the cart (it just wouldn't fit in the locker if I did). It's adjustable, which is nice. I don't know that I'd pay retail for it...

    cleaning racedeck?

Heavy degreaser. Zep, Purple Power, Awesome - dump right on the worst spots, hot water mixed with degreaser and a deck brush. It works best if/when you can take the garden hose to the floor and get rid of all the residue. Deposits on the edges happen, but hosing things clean helps. I'd...

How has your snap on experience been?

No complaints here. In fact, I'd say I have one of the best dealers. Warranty? Pretty much like Craftsman used to be - for any reason, even if I'm not happy with it. He always lets me know about deals, and for most purchases, I'd say I get the best price possible. Quality, combined with...

    Question on Racedeck Tiles Expansion

My Racedeck does like the picture of the techfloor when the door is open. There's entirely too much weight on the perimeter of my garage to allow movement. Free flow tiles aren't as bad, but they will all hove and bubble too, especially when it's 95 with direct sunlight. Bringing a hot car...

    Alldata or Mitchell or ????

I switched from AllData to ShopKey last year and agree with both of those. In a perfect world, I'd have both, but I'll stick with ShopKey. After using it for 8 months, I do like the Shopkey Management software better than Alldata Manage. I'm not ever planning on switching back - even with the...

are there common 12 point socket sizes?

Zero. I bought the Snap On triple square bit set in preparation, but VW and BMW just isn't big around here. For whatever reason, so far 2014 seems to be year of the Jeep. 80% of my repairs have been Jeep so far.

are there common 12 point socket sizes?

2" 12 point socket will take the ABS ring off a Jaguar XJ8.... I wasn't about to buy the specialized "tool" for something I'll likely only do once or twice. Otherwise, it doesn't hurt to have a set of SAE. The 30mm, so far, has been the only other big 12 pt I've needed.
