Zinc plating Passivation plant setup (DIY)

Caswell's Copy Cad is the easiest to work with... Copper is pretty easy to plate, but Nickle (Copy Chrome) was a major PITA. I haven't even looked at my tanks for over a year. Zinc is nice, it plates quick, and pretty easily.

How to get rust out of fuel tank?

^^ Probably the best solution. You'll likely never get it "clean", so just make sure there's a good fuel filter on it.

    HF 44" drawer swap?

Yep, you just have to remove the latches from one to fit in the other (I can't remember which) as the lock tabs are different. Then drill out the rivets on the extra slides to remove them.

Snap On tool show box deals?

$1,000 off $10,000 through EC, then 6 months same as cash. I never pass up free money for 6 months. The Epic's are double rebates, but a comparable package would be around $5-900 more and I don't see the advantage.

Snap On tool show box deals?

No trades. After rebates, final price is 8416 + tax.

    I've been mulling this over, what would be the consensus be to a great deal that I shouldn't pass up? KRL1018PJJ DOCKER LOCK EXTREME GREEN 0 * $2,260.00 KRL1012BPJJ LKR, EXT GREEN W/BRIGHT 0 * $3,095.00 KRL1023CPJJ 3BK RC W/2 FW DRWRS EXTGREEN 0 * $10,800.00...

    Oil Lift Drain

I don't do a lot of oil changes, so I went as cheap as practical. http://www.tooltopia.com/lisle-11102promo.aspx It works fine for my needs, and it's light enough to lift up to pour into my holding tank. The promo transmission tray works good when dropping pans, you just have to NOT catch the...

My wife would not let me order this.....

My wife ok'd it. Don't think my Snap On dealer would be interested in bedroom sets on trade though lol.

    Race deck

I love my Racedeck, and it gets high compliments from just about every customer that walks in the door. I've been open around 3 months now, and if I want it to look like it did 2 months ago, I'll probably be replacing a couple hundred tiles every 6 months or so. Even with a blanket down...

    Racedeck layout

That's actually pretty easy. You'll start in front of the garage door, with your row and edging where you want it, then when you back to the door, extend your rows through it. Don't do any cutting to the checkered side (leave the wall bordering tiles missing if need be), then you will know...

RaceDeck Questions - auto repair type users

For lawn stuff, I would stay away from free flow tiles, unless you like pulling them up to clean underneath. The solid tiles aren't a problem. It's easy to sweep up on them. Water does go through the cracks, but I wet mop and then rinse with a garden hose, followed by a squeegee. When I...

RaceDeck Questions - auto repair type users

I destroyed around 9 tiles, when I used my chop saw over mine. If I had patience to pick all of the little specs out, it wouldn't be as noticeable, but I had some extras and replaced them.

torque spec for wiper arm bolt: 2010 toyota sienna

Just tighten it up so that it clamps solid onto the shaft. I've never used a torque wrench on stuff like that, but if you're afraid of twisting off the bolt, use a 1/4 drive ratchet to limit yourself. It's usually pretty easy to tell the resistance when it's tight enough.

    Concrete cost

30x40 5" should be around 19 yards. I'm paying about $110 a yard = $2090 I've learned I can handle about 5 yards at a time working by myself (and enlisting a little help from my wife). I've been working on my pad...which is oddly bigger than the shop. The shop got rebar, outside is getting...

    boat bottom paint for floors

I don't know much, except that it usually contains algaecides to keep from fowling. There's several different kinds, and some are epoxy based. I wouldn't go out to get boat bottom paint for my garage floor, but I probably would use a can your painter gave me lol. When spending MY money for...

    My New 24x40 Shop Build

I've been pretty busy trying to find a home for everything as I move all of my junk in, and then arranging displays from my vendors. For some of my Racedeck and Bendpak install - http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138298 The last pic I took was - The weather finally broke...

Falcon's next shop - build thread

 My dad beat it into my head to run 12 for everything too. Voltage drop and heat were his biggest complaints against 14. Not to mention, it's just easier.

    where would you buy coal?

:+1: It takes some practice to get how to burn it down, but I'm sure that my ancestors used it to heat the old farmhouse in the fireplaces. Not for me in the house, but I do use it in the old garage.
