    When we built our house almost ten years ago ,In the garage we had 8' fixtures T-12 I'm pretty sure . One noisy Ballast but a ton of light. There were 7 fixtures 3 on each side length wise down each row and one in the middle between the cars. In cold temps what a pain wreeeooow-wreeeooow...

    Definately a NO-NO in Md. I also would recommend sheetrock, harder to put up for sure , just make a T-post from a couple 2x's and they will take the weight while you screw gun it to the trusses.

    I have made two very solid work benches from solid core fire rated doors that have been found on work sites tossed in demolition , one has 2x4 legs and bracing the other has 2x6 only because that is what was laying around available at the time. The door knob hole comes in handy for running...

    Steel Beam Size?

    You could also ask the local steel yard . They sell the beams and should have a good idea of the structural load that each size beam will handle...

    Chris, With you living in Ga. you probably don't have to worry about snow load. As mentioned before most pole barns are supported with either 6x6 or 4x6 ,perhaps since you have attic trusses I would opt for the 6x6 . If you plan on a shingle roof 14 trusses will give you a garage length of 26'...

    Boy I can relate to that , My wife would love for me to come start "The inside projects" But I just like doing the Outside projects better!! :lol: This is more for storing tractors and mowing equipment for the property, But the upstairs is more of a shop for restoring old furniture or other...
