    It's either a Lewis or a Prentiss on the Lewis pattern.---The crack can be repaired by a professional machinist who knows how to weld cast.---It's probably 130 years old.---Made back in the 1800s.---It's rare and you should buy it if their not asking a mint.

    Mark, I usually sharpen mine on the bar, but that is brilliant.---Never would have thought of using a saw vise like that.---But I have my Fathers old hand saw vise and it looks exactly like yours with the ball pivot.---Goin to put mine in my Starrett and try that.:thumbup:

    Huck, that is a real clean braze job, but I've yet to see a Co. that has sold repaired vises as first run quality products.---But that is about as good a braze job as I've ever seen.---You can still get a tone of service out of it.
