Ryobi One+ deal at Home Depot

Thanks. I'm glad I didn't notice the deal last month; I would have happily paid $279.

    2018 Garage Sale Thread

Interesting research, I knew some of this info but not most of it. The Mercator is a classic knife; sturdy, light, and it holds a keen edge.

Lugnutz, that knife looks like an Otter Mercator Black Cat but the markings don't sound quite right, maybe a knockoff?

Ha! Me too. I remember that excitement like it was yesterday even though it was a few days after Christmas 1986.

Jeep Tools: Building out the kit.

Thanks for the tip, I've been looking for some interesting steel wheels to run on my Wrangler and those might just fit the bill...

Nice Rubicon, Beowulf. What wheels are those in the first picture (the black steelies)?

Running antigreeze through gas power washer

I took a couple of feet of garden hose with the male coupler on it and jammed a big funnel in the other end. I zip tied the funnel to the handle of the pressure washer and when I'm done using it I screw the end of the hose into the water inlet on the pressure washer, fill the funnel with anti...

Shed foundation in a potentially wet area

I have an 8x12 shed that is sitting in a wet area on my property. It sits on 9 solid concrete blocks (3 down each side, 3 down the middle). The area has standing water at least once a year (it's actually the flood plain for a tiny seasonal creek) and so far the shed hasn't moved or suffered...

    Craftsman Tool box ?

I have 3 of the rally boxes, I use them to store my "in the house" tools on my basement workbench. They're fine for that purpose or to keep in the trunk. I think the retro wood grain decals are kind of cool.

Carpenter Bees - Pole barn outside roof framing ?

Yep, it's a satisfying feeling when you really connect with one and send it into a low earth orbit. "Ping!!"

    Highest Quality, Tiny Basic Multimeter?

I'm not sure it's "highest quality" but I like my Extech DM 110 meter. It works well and fits in your pocket. About $30 if I recall.

    New Husky Rancher 460 chainsaw

The same thing happened to my Husqvarna the 3rd or 4th time I used it. The chain brake was jammed. I was out in the woods and removed the chain brake band with a promise to myself to "fix it the right way" when I got back. I haven't quite got around to it yet.

Your Heat Source, For Shrink Tubing ?

The HF electric heat gun works great, just don't drop it, the housing is brittle. The good news is mine still works fine even though about 25% of the housing has been knocked off.

    Battery Charger

I have one of these, it works well.

Some more SK drop in teasers..

I'd guess the selectors are cast zinc or something. They are polished but don't appear to be plated. They are a bit easier to grip than the old straight selectors. I got my new drop-in today. I'll admit I was a little skeptical but I installed it in my ratchet and it works great, much...
