    Let's see your axes

If you shop around you can do a lot better, I've got about $100 in mine give or take and I've seen them for less on CL. It's well designed and well made, if you go to Forrest Tools' website there are some demonstration videos that are pretty impressive. I remember one that shows a guy going...

    Let's see your axes

Those are great tools but can be pretty pricey. If you troll eBay you can sometimes find the individual pieces fairly cheap and I just recently finished piecing a full set together. Mine lives in the back of my Jeep for "just in case"...

Some more SK drop in teasers..

Hi Eric, did you get my PM? I had some error messages when sending and didn't get a response.

Some more SK drop in teasers..

I got the same PM from SK Eric, that's amazing customer service in my book. My hope is that this is merely a hiccup in the early run of drop ins because the dual pawl mechanism works great in reverse! I've always loved the old SK stuff but the new owners have earned my business, guess I need...

Some more SK drop in teasers..

Mine has the same issue. Both pawls engage consistently in reverse, however when I switch directions one pawl doesn't engage unless I turn the drive really, really slowly. I will have to pull the ratchet apart again and see if one pawl is looser than the other.

Some more SK drop in teasers..

It'd be cool if the old selector worked, it'd make it kind of a sleeper ratchet. But the new selector is easier to grip I think.

Suaoki T10 400A Peak 12000 mAh Car Jump Starter Battery Booster Powerpack

I bought one when they were $35 a few months ago. I have two heavy SLA jumper packs and it's amazing that this tiny, lightweight device can accomplish the same thing. I've used it to jump multiple vehicles including a Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 that had been sitting in a field for 5 years and it...

    China markers / grease pencils

I've been using a mechanical pencil style China marker made by Markal called the Trades Marker. Lots of different colors of "lead" and no paper to peel off. I buy mine at Menards but I think I've seen them on Amazon. edit: Pelican Pines beat me to it, that's what I get for not clicking the...

    Wera PH1 Chiseldriver: $3.49 Add-on

I got mine a couple of days ago, first Wera driver I've ever handled. Now unfortunately I have to buy the whole set...

    Let's see your axes

I used to think they called those a maul because of what they did to the wood, with all that weight in the head they really do bust up big rounds and pop apart knots well. But now that I'm a little older I realize the name comes from what they do to your back. And your shoulders. And your...

    Wacker Compactor

I second this recommendation, the HF 212cc is often on sale for $99 and should fit your compactor better. I've had 4 or 5 Honda clones over the years and just bought a 212 for a go kart. The fit and finish on the 212 is much nicer than the older clones I have and is virtually indistinguishable...

    Project 66 Rustang

Cool car but wow, Emberglo with a white vinyl top, snazzy. Still it's a better color combo than my first car, a 66 coupe that was Springtime Yellow (kind of a light yellow) with a black vinyl top. :pimpflash My advice on the motor is to go with a stroker small block and standalone EFI...

Portable band saw w/ stand or abrasive chop saw

I haven't used my chop saw since I bought my portaband and table 2 years ago. The band saw is quieter, cleaner, cuts better, and the blades last longer.

    show car assy-help needed

20 years ago I worked as a helper monkey in a shop that restored classic cars. We put masking tape on fasteners, panel edges, and anything that could be easily marred. We also taped up our tools to protect stuff. Moving blankets, fender covers, and rags padded larger surfaces. We had some...

Ace Hardware 50% off coupon - What are you buying?

I picked up a Fiskars splitting axe for $40, not a crazy deal but a good price. Now to go retire my old "anvil on a stick" maul before it hurts me...

Ace Hardware 50% off coupon - What are you buying?

Boy, I don't know what I'll get, I can't seem to find anything on Ace's website that would be a bargain even after taking $15 off the regular price. Nearly everything I looked at on Ace's site (including Estwing, Channellock, Vise Grip, Craftsman, Nupla, GearWrench, Buck Knives, Case Knives...
