    Proto prototype

Thought maybe some people on here might find this ratchet interesting. My dad got it from Grainger when he worked there, from the Stanley rep. It was for linemen for the power companies hence the big selector. Not sure if it was ever put to production but according to the folklore it was built...

Which Dual Action (DA) Orbital for polishing cars?

From the detailing forums I'm on, it seems to get ok reviews for the price. But it's not really a full replacement for a PC 7424, or the new kids, Rupes or Flex 3401 who are supposed to be even better than the PC.

    Snap-On wrench set advise

Do you need them for anything or do you have another set to use? I have a lot of my grandpas tools and I've decided to keep them for sentimental reasons even if/when they break. I can buy new tools but they won't be his.

    Menards and HF

It definitely seems like Menards is going after the HF market a bit, more so than Home Depot. Seems like they're using the Toolshop and Performax brands to counter the cheap HF stuff, Crescent brand to counter Pittsburgh Pro, Duralast etc and then it seems like they're phasing out Masterforce...

Craftsman Hand Tool Manufacturers & Date Ranges

I have a 1/2" drive breaker bar that's a VVQ. I didn't see that on the original list. Any ideas? If a VVL is 2000s then I would think this is after that, but it's from my grandpa and my dad says he stopped getting stuff in the 80s he thinks.

Age of this Cman socket set?

Just won these on eBay. I'm 19 and I think these could be about my age or older. Anyone have an idea? Just curious, I don't really care . Got them for about $30. Figured it was fair since they're USA, about the same price as Gearwrench or new China Craftsmans would be. Now just need to get...

    Removing HF stickers??!

A clay bar or Nanoskin like mitt would work well for getting the adhesive off. I've done that with getting dealer logos off of cars.

Craftsman V series 1/2" dr ratchet rebuild kit?

Not yet, it probably does need a good cleaning and lube. Works great still, but will probably let it live an easy life now lol.

Buying Gearwrench at a closeout retailer?

Sounds like a national policy. I don't even need to ask my local advance as they pushback hard on warrantying a part with a lifetime warranty and with the receipt. Thanks for the replies, I'll get it tomorrow if they have it still.

Buying Gearwrench at a closeout retailer?

There's a shop near me that's a tool surplus store...sometimes they have neat stuff, sometimes not. They happen to have a set of Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches for $15. Tempting, but would I be SOL for warranty (since the store isn't a dealer)? I've read about 6 or 7 threads on here about it...

Craftsman V series 1/2" dr ratchet rebuild kit?

Hi, first time poster here. I have a 60s Craftsman V series ratchet that I can't find a rebuild kit for. It doesn't need one now, but I would like to have one or two on hand. It's from my grandpa and I would never swap it for a new one. (I don't use it now just for that reason) I've checked ebay...
