Where do you buy the special screws used to hold washers onto Price Pfister valve stems?

I had an issue with my Pfister kitchen faucet hose. I contacted them for a part number so I can order a new one and they informed me about their limited lifetime warranty and sent me a new hose. Anywho...it might be worth a call to their customer service...

The right way to add conduit to panel?

Forgetting the whole romex in a questionable location part.... The simpliest thing to do is get two 1 1/2" pvc lbs, one 1 1/2" pvc 45, a stick of 1 1/2" pvc, a couple of 1 1/2" pvc couplings and one 1 1/2" pvc male adapter. Come out of the side of the panel where you indicated...male adapter...

Curious what the sparkies think (Wago Video)

Wagos have their use - perfect for fixtures with small wires and for mixed solid stranded connections. Wirenuts are cheaper and for common tasks like solid to solid or stranded to stranded splicing a very solid method. It is nice to see the science remove the histrionics surrounding wagos...

    120V quad outlets- multiple circuits

It is situational. He 'might' need to have two separate feeds for two appliances on occasion. He might need receptacles every six feet. In order to have all of these receptacles available, he cannot stack anything in front of them, so all of that wall space becomes less useful. Absolutely a...

Wife Wants a Battery Powered Chainsaw - Makita?

I got Mrs. Jack one of the black and decker cordless alligator loppers. https://www.lowes.com/pd/BLACK-DECKER-Alligator-20-Volt-Max-Lithium-Ion-6-in-Cordless-Electric-Chainsaw/1000514057 Momma Jack stole it and I had to buy another one. Very good at small schtuff and super safe ( both hands...

    Ceiling box extender??

You really don't need to lower the box. The bracket will screw into the box tabs and the black cover will **** into the ceiling. The bracket does not need to be right against the box tabs ( as evidenced by the old fixture you removed from this spot ). The box support is likely a through hole...

    120V quad outlets- multiple circuits

So as an alterative, run two totally separate receptacle circuits in different alternating boxes, 6 feet apart. The likelihood of being out of range of both circuits is zero ( most appliances, tools have a 6' cord ). Honestly it would be cheaper to space them further apart and purchase a...

    Sun machines

Back during the dot com boom one of the companies I worked for had a Sun Microsystems 4000 that was basically a power supply with blinking lights. We rented rack space in a data center on the hudson river...folks would come in ( always at night for best effect ) and walk down the long windowed...

    Your most annoying shop sounds

I have 236 versions of The Little Drummer Boy and I am not afraid to use them. Will go with The Shaggs - Philosophy of the World if I am feeling particularly evil.

How to cut 1 1/4 greenfield electrical conduit cleanly

A diagonal cut with a hacksaw. Basically you want to cut through one wrap of the spiral.

    Template for breaker panel

We label with a brady bmp21 plus printer and 3/8" vinyl labels in industrial settings and they hold up pretty well. In my own home, I wrote the breaker number in sharpie on the inside of every cover - so if I really need to know the breaker I just take the cover off.

    MWBC solutions

AFCI is not completely useless. It makes a lot of money for someone. Seems like a lot of work ( and potentially a lot of unsafe wiring ) for zero benefit.

Can I run MC (Armored) cable in a PVC conduit

Well..... You can properly connect the mc to the metal box it originates in ( bonding the jacket of the mc which is required ) then run the mc to an mc connector, threaded into a pvc female adapter. This will require you to strip the mc jacket from the beginning of the pvc to where it ends in...

    Cordless sawzall pole saw?

I would guess it has to do with the reciprocating action. If you don't keep the shoe of the sawzall on the piece you are cutting all you get is a bunch of movement. A tree branch 20' away would be especially difficult to stabilize. The chainsaw works because it is always pulling itself into the...

    Organizing BIG Sockets......

Are those 8 point sockets in the center of the first image or are they something else? I ask because I run across a lot of square head bolts of various sizes and have a hard time finding sockets.

    Wiring in metal building

Nothing is required to protect the mc. Personally I would use good holesaws and file the holes after drilling. Remember to sweep off the metal crumbs from anything that will be overhead ( so you don't get metal in your eyes later ). When you go to pull the mc notice there appears to be sloped...

Alloy toes vs no protection boots? ***Edit

I only wear composite toe shoes, but if the choice was nothing or alloy I would go with alloy. It is almost silly how easy it is to break a toe.

Neighbor ran a full dump truck right beside my semi-buried garage wall/retaining wall- Liable or not?

The bigger problem is now his yard is higher than your yard. Guess where all of their rain runoff is going? Your garage.

    What Hammer?

A good pair of dykes is better but I have removed lots of staples, both for things like carpets and for romex/mc staples with it. The two ends give you options for prying.
