Cousins to the Carlyle locking flex head ratchets?

Off the top of my head I don't know of another company that brands those ratchets. Ko-ken and Mac have locking flex head ratchets with a push button lock. They are higher quality ratchets. The Ko-ken is limited in drive sizes and low tooth count. Which drive size(s) did you need...

Rumor: SK Tools to be sold to Great Star or Bain Capital

Most of Wright's stuff is made in the USA but not all. Wright's adjustable wrenches are made in Spain by Irega. Previously they were made in the USA by Western Forge until they closed. And Wright's Cougar Pro line is imported from Taiwan or China. Also, Wright's catalog includes stuff...

    Screwdriver set for automotive

Snap-On screwdrivers are made in the Snap-On Milwaukee factory. Since the 1980s according to the video below. Also, Western Forge is gone.

    Amazon Prime Day Deals

The one in the capture is probably either camelcamelcamel or keepa. By far I found the most Amazon deals by actively searching using So.cool but the advanced features kept breaking and then the developer ended it. Unfortunately I have not found a replacement. There's junglesearch but 99% of...

I was hoping for another deal like this one. Haha!

Why make quick release buttons that are easy to accidentally press?

By far, I mostly see Snap-On without the quick release in the USA. There have been posts on Garage Journal from Americans who didn't even know Snap-On made quick release.

    Amazon Prime Day Deals

The best deals are from their wild price fluctuations. I had been watching a Proto socket and ratchet set drop in price. This morning it was $100 which is about $200 off retail. I have lots of sockets already and wanted one more price drop to make the deal even crazier so I decide to continue...

    Amazon Prime Day Deals

They upped the price and then discounted it back. At the end of May it was that price without a sale. Before Christmas last year it was $56.

    Carlyle sockets quality?

The big push for some of these import brands is driven by spam from social media influencers and sellers or resellers. They have the most intere$t in being online. ;) If you aren't in a hurry there is a greater reward searching for deals. It takes time to find the best deals but I've often...

    Bahco Dual 80s jamming

Never had any problems with mine. Did you try disassembling, cleaning/flushing, and lube? That would be the first thing to try. If that doesn't work, take the guts out of a Snap-On and put them in the Bahco. If that resolves the problem, then get a rebuild kit when the white van stops.

The clearance problem was nicely demonstrated but those Record(?) cutters stole the show! Haha!

    Tools from the old world

"The tips are covered with special caps and remain uncoated during the plating process. This increases dimensional accuracy and helps the blade grip the screw slot. The parts are then nickel-plated and chromium-plated in an automatic unit… …after which they are heated up to approximately 200 °C...

The over the top Toptul spam was an annoyance but your post here is really in poor taste.

    New Knipex TwinGrip

It looks like they put a lot of thought into the jaws for working on damaged fasteners. It seems nicely designed for that purpose but I'm not sure that I would use them for anything else because the front jaws aren't uniform. If you were grabbing a cotter pin for example, it would slip out...

    Show your new tool arrivals

I'm pretty sure this is the only scratched Nepros ratchet ever shown on GJ. I found the photo of the ratchet on the web. GJ would never scratch a Nepros ratchet. ;) https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/tools-from-the-old-world.28952/page-818#post-8827896 Something not previously seen...

    Tools from the old world

I'm sure they're nice screwdrivers. Wiha makes nice fixed drivers. The black tips is more common on quality drivers since it does not change the dimensions as much as plating. Of course, manufacturers can also compensate for this in their design. As far as which lasts better, the black...

Snap on bent needle nose worse than channellock

In the last 5 or so years Channellock discontinued some and added some. If it looks the same then the manufacturing hasn't changed. Unfortunately, the discontinued the slip joints with the aggressive teeth. I'd suggest grabbing them while you still can find them. My favorites are the larger...

    New Knipex Pliers Wrench XS

Looks like Knipex is making a XS version of the Pliers Wrench to complement their XS Cobra. I found the images on distributor websites but I could not find them on the Knipex website itself. Has Garage Journal once again leaked new product information before the announcement like they did for...
