    Best bit ratchet 1/4

Several of them copied the Victorinox bit ratchet and extension. Some even copied the appearance of the handle. This video shows the Victorinox and the clone from Topeak. The head on the Victorinox is super tiny and can be helpful when there's limited access.

    Proto Precision 90 1/4” ratchet.

My 1/4 Proto 90 changes about as easily as my 1/4 Snap-On dual 80. They have a slightly different feel because of the way the holes are made in the patented dual 80. My 3/8 Proto 90 are a bit lighter than my 3/8 Snap-On dual 80. I've never accidentally switched any of them.

Gedore Ratcheting Screwdriver & Huang Buffalo Co Ltd

I always enjoy looking at disassembly photos/videos. Huang is the 7th most common name in China (according to a quick Google search). Could be related but there are lots of people with the name. I haven't searched. But my impression from the site is that Buffalo is a trade company. On the...

Gedore Ratcheting Screwdriver & Huang Buffalo Co Ltd

To find the patent holder it would be better to search through the ratcheting screwdriver patents. Maybe search Google patents. Keep in mind that if the patent is too old it may no longer be enforceable. I have the USA made Snap-On and Williams ratcheting screwdrivers and t-handle and the...

Gedore Ratcheting Screwdriver & Huang Buffalo Co Ltd

Do you know they make them and don't just source them? Are you going by the photos or is there more information? "Huang Buffalo sources, creates and delivers products to brands and retailers worldwide for over 30 years." (quote from your link to Buffalo) This quote from Astro in another topic...

eBay Channellock 317 longnose - real or fake?

I looked it up! Funny that it was also a topic expressing your disappointment with Channellock and preference for Taiwan imports. It's like deja vu all over again. Haha!

GongMaw Taiwan - OEM Locking Plier Manufacturer (Milwaukee)

Super Knife patented a design about 20 years ago. I did a quick search for the patent and I think this might be it --> https://patents.google.com/patent/US6354007B1/en The SuperKnife was inexpensive but I actually got mine as a freebie with an order of other from a store. Fiskars/Gerber...

Proto precision 90 and sk lp90 side by side

There was a post a while back in which a guy sent in an older "big dawg" and he got a Precision 90 in return. Iirc, it was best just to send in the whole ratchet rather than ask for a rebuild kit. They wanted him to buy the kit but they warrantied (and upgraded) the ratchet for free when he...

Recommend a high quality 6" needle/snipe nose pliers with side cutter

Good point about pliers wearing in. I think it may have just been something I read in Amazon reviews and mentioned since others care enough to mention in their feedback. The pliers weren't for me. I also got her a Xuron USA 475C pliers with cutter. The front is a precision pliers and...

Proto precision 90 and sk lp90 side by side

I have a few Proto 90 and love mine. None were dry. All were heavily oiled from the factory. Very little back drag. Not sure why your coworker's experience is so different. Did he buy used instead of new?

    Proto Precision 90 differences?

One is drop shipped and the other is in stock. This happens a lot on Zoro. I usually buy the one that's cheaper.

    NAPA carrying Vessel....

Cheaper elsewhere but good to know. Curiously, on their site the Vessel screwdrivers come up as Balkamp instead of Vessel. I had to search the part numbers to find them. The Real Deal prices are cheaper than the current Napa prices but they're cheaper elsewhere even with the sale and coupons...

    SK Frustration

Someone is reposting deals from GJ on slickdeals. Obscure hard to find deals that I've posted here have been posted on Slickdeals afterwards by someone other than me. Unfortunately, that usually kills the deal quick. To be fair, GJ members are also posting stuff from slickdeals here.

More than a rumor: SK is in fact in process of being sold.

Wilde was also used as an example of a remaining USA manufacturer when Western Forge was closing. But Western Forge made some of the Wilde brand products (and stuff for a lot of other brands also) so they were also affected by the closing of Western Forge. I don't know if the change in...

    Tools of Japan

Thank you for the info, guys. For others that haven't followed the other topics I want to point out that I was just identifying plastic components. Not criticizing the ratchets although some of the reviews that I quoted are critical. Dave455, Iirc you have the knurled grip on the swivel head...

    Tools of Japan

I did some searches and this fellow claims the material changed but it is not plastic. It seems that there is a lot of conflicting information on the net. Sorry! https://mrrs.jp/blog/archives/201308/21-131710.php On Koken round head ratchets is the red part plastic? I vaguely remember...
