Installing a lift. Do I have to change garage door?

Did the same but had an electrical outlet within 6 feet of the opener. Had to be creative running the control wiring from the ceiling just above the old opener to the LM 98022.

What I liked about the various Brit detective shows was the perp gave up without having to send a swat team in with guns a 'blazing. One that currently shows on OTA subchannels is Midsomer Murders. It is a master of coming up with different ways to murder someone. And check with your local...

ahh.. Inspector Morse: My all time favorite detective show. But then again there was "A Touch of Frost", "Pie in the Sky...... Awhile back I read that Morse's Jag was a bit iffy to ride in because the floor boards were rotten.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT BoostingAZ's Garage & Woodshop

Stupid place to put AC, like putting it inside a furnace. Furnace/AC really should be in conditioned space, but that's the way we've always done it!

8X10 Tuff Shed - Concrete Piers??

Though not a Tuff Shed (8x12 self built) I put it on used railroad ties (3 if I remeber correctly). don't know if used ties are available any more since some RR switched to concrete

    Insulation

When our house was insulated with cellulose, a fabric mesh was used to hold the stuff. Stays fluffy that way. See attached pic

Maybe the builders think you are from CA. Idahoans hate Californians that come flush with money (and liberal politics) from selling their CA house. (My son lives in Boise.)

Ever leave the house and wonder if you shut the garage door?

Stuart and I have the solution. My fairly new 8500 LM very infrequently reopens after closing. Now it is my habit (a good one) to ensure it stays closed.

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Suburban Working Garage in VA...now building the Highland House in the Teton Valley

Never used that road but went to Jackson (the town, Jackson Hole is the valley)) from Utah. From the pics it looks as though that section was built using fill -- and lots of it. Note all the big rocks at the toe of the far side slope.

Wall mount/Jack shaft opener - Regrets

Yes, Affable..., I know that but want to see if it happens again. Maybe caused by one of the F-16s or A-10s flying over. Anyway, might have to reprogram at 3:00 AM to avoid the possible conflict. Neighbors aren't that close to see if anyone is opening a door at the same time. Such is life in...

Plastic screening? Use metal. Also use 1/4 inch hardware cloth rather than chicken wire.

Wall mount/Jack shaft opener - Regrets

had one in installed in 12/2023. Like it but have needed 2 return service calls under warrantee. Both involved the door closing to the floor and then going back up repeatedly. Happened about 4 1/2 months after install. I had to pull the release to close the door manually. First one the...

But be careful where you cruse. Leroy Brown might take a liking to MK and want to trade for his Eldorado.

Help! Crazy Rafter Framing in Old House

One reason old buildings are still standing is that the lumber probably came from old growth trees. The growth rings are closer together and the wood. is denser and so stronger than what is available today. I did some remodeling in a 1954 house and the studs were Doug Fir and very hard to nail...

Maximum shed size with 4 supports

I built an 8x12 set on 3-4 (can't remember) used but good railroad ties. Floor was rim and joist as you show in your diagram. Guy that bought the house because of the shed.

Rebar Slab on Grade or Post-Tension foundation???

Another aspect is what floor finish you will want such as stained/colored concrete or carpet throughout. Ours is a PT slab with tile in parts (thinking about removing carpet and staining the concrete). PT "eliminates cracking after the tension is applied. Visited the house during construction...

Garage Door Opener type - Screw, Belt or Chain?

I had a LM 8500 installed last Dec. Like the automatic lock and LED light. While taking 2 of my grandkids to the airport a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a new, large building on the way with big "LiftMaster Chamberlain" signs on it.

Hopefully those original roofers will be sent to a job in Midsomer county, never to be seen again.

    20'x20 Storage shed plans.

Those that want stuff but can't/won't come and get the stuff fairly quickly ought to pay for the rented storage space since the estate doesn't have the $$., If not sell the stuff they want if they won't pay for storage. Sorry but Bad promise on your part, unfortunately.
