Question for all the MTBers on here

I picked up a pair of pants from REI. They're windproof, but breathable and have some stretch to them also. You can layer up under them too. Stick with polyester/wool blends, otherwise you'll freeze when you get wet. I think they were about 80 bucks. The bike specific stuff does work well...

Old Car - What would you do?

I have a 92 accord also, same mileage 215k, original clutch, everything still works on the car. Best car I ever owned. Plan to drive it as long as I can. Stuff like the clutch switch is minor. When you have that kind of mileage, you're only gonna get so much for the car if you sell it anyway...

brand new concrete floor. will see lots of metal work and traffic. what to use??

Doesn't somebody make a fire blanket or tarp that you can put on the floor that will not catch fire? You would be able to pull it out when you have a cutting/ welding project and fold it up when not in use. Not sure what they cost though.

    cordless Vac

I wanted the dyson, but couldn't stomach the money for it. I had a hand held shark vac, but the battery didn't last on it. After researching some reviews on amazon, I ended up with the Dustbuster. I spent the extra money for the one with the lithium battery. So far, I like it. The battery...

Toro Vs. Honda walk behind lawnmowers

What about Snapper? I've had my walk-behind self propelled since 92', 4.5 hp briggs and stratton signature series engine. It wasn't cheap ($500 in 92'), but no problems, ever. I agree with buying from a local mower store too. Different models than the big box stores. I also was looking at new...

    Gas or Electric Heat?

Sewer and water are out. I'm not even gonna check cause it's not in the budget. The work involved would be huge. The garage location is too far from the house to tap into a sewer line. The village probably wouldn't allow it anyway. I would still love to do in-floor heat, but the village may...

    Plywood or OSB?

What's a better material to use for outside garage sheeting, plywood or osb? What about the roof? Getting ready to build soon.

    Gas or Electric Heat?

Great info guys! I'm probably going to go with natural gas with possibly a dual unit a/c heating unit on the 2nd level. I don't have the cash to run a radiant floor set-up. Next stupid question: Is it worthwhile to insulate your concrete slab if your not heating the floor? Good observation...

    Gas or Electric Heat?

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but am already addicted. I'm planning my new garage build and am looking for heating options. The garage will be 24 x 24 with a 2nd floor loft. I was initially looking at overhead forced gas heaters but my contractor is suggesting electric. The main heater will be...

    New guy from Chicago Burbs

Just wanted to officially say Hi to everyone. I stumbled upon this while looking for info on heated garage floors. Looking to tear down my crappy 2.5 car and make it into a 2 story. I already got some good ideas, maybe too many! But, Great Site! Thanks, Bob.
