    Vintage Craftsman Bandsaw

I got this from an estate sale a few years ago. I need to make some room for other stuff. Because of the size, this would need to be picked up. I am located NW of Chicago, in McHenry, IL. Craftsman Band Saw: Great classic tool. Motor run, saw works great, includes some blades, etc in the bottom...

    Dangerous or not?

That's kinda what I was thinking. I know I run #10 minimum for a 220 circuit. #12 for any outlets. I had thought you weren't supposed to run a series of 220's off one circuit. I thought they should have a designated line for each. However, I could see that be a problem if you have 220...

    Dangerous or not?

My old man just put up a huge pole barn and has set up a wood shop inside of it. I came out to take a look at the progress and he had just finished wiring the woodshop. Here's what he did: He has ten two-space boxes around the room. In each box he has wired a 15A 110 receptacle and a 30A...

Property inspection note on electrical panel

I agree with Keep! He's trying to sell the house. Now, that inspector's report is ammo for negotiation. The buyer could make stipulations on the sale depending on the offer you originally accepted. See what they buyers say. They may say they want it fixed prior to closing. At that point...

    Its Time for lights!!! Finally!!

One idea I saw in another thread and I am using for these walmart lights is to cut 1/2" to 1" pieces of pvc to use a spacer and screw the lights to the ceiling joist or rafter. It will give the light the space to stay cool and you won't have a light swinging around everywhere. Mike

    Which receptacles to buy?

Sorry, I should add, in your experience, am I better off going with an electrical supply company and buying a 20 pack or something??

    Which receptacles to buy?

Sorry, if this is a novice question, but I wanted to ask from your experience what receptacles to get? I know I don't want the cheepy 99 cent jobs, but I don't know enough about them to necessary drop $6 a piece on them either. Here's what I have going... I have 3, 20a circuits, each boxed...

Using 12-3 romex for multi circuits

I was thinking about doing something similar. You will just wire-nut all the neutrals together? Right? Are you planning on a double 20amp breaker? Mike

Tips for drywalling around garage door track

For those of you who removed the supports, how did you deal with the new geometry now that you, in a sense, lowered the tracks 1/2-5/8 of an inch, depending on the thickness of the drywall. Thanks for the great replies!! Mike

Tips for drywalling around garage door track

I'm trying to keep my planning one step ahead of my action. My garage door tracks and opener are hung with the typical perforated angle pieces. There is a horizontal one attached to the ceiling joist with two vertical drops that for an angle where they meet the door track. How did you guys...

Hardwire? Receptacle? What do you think?

Sorry, for not giving the full picture. It is an attached garage. I ran 100A service to it because there was no other way of providing my power needs in the garage. The outside lights run off of a foyer circuit in the house and operated by three-ways in the foyer and the garage. I inteded to...
