    Craftsman Drill Press

Hi All, I recently picked up a Craftsman 100 series drill press because it had a Vari-Slo but also the table lift. Full disclosure, the ower told me one of the gears in the lift gearbox and he wasn"t kidding. Regardless they are difficult to find around here so I bought it knowing I'd need to...

    Electric Motor Help Needed

Hey Folks, I have two small 1/3 HP 1725 RPM 1 PH motors that I need to use for projects. There was no plug wired for either nor any wiring diagram. I'm wondering how to wire a plug, Both have three terminals. On one they are labeled T1, T2, T3, on the other it looks like 2, 1, 7. How should I be...

Drill Press ID Help - 101.03600

Thanks for the responses. I measured the distance between the Dunlap panel rivets and it's 2 3/8". The rivets/badge don't appear to have ever been removed and I agree, the paint on the head matches the paint on the belt cover etc.. Doesn't appear to have been repainted. Best I can tell , this is...

Drill Press ID Help - 101.03600

Hey Folks, I came across this DP locally and it was too reasonable to pass by especially since it had the MSA. I need some help IDing though since the front belt cover is casted as Craftsman but it has the Dunlap badge on the side. It's a 12 3/4" DP, 2 1/4" column. Crusty tag on the base stamped...

    Another Electric Motor Wiring Question

Hello All, I have another request for help in adding a power cord to a nice electric motor. This AJAX motor fortunately has a wiring schematic but the wires as current attached to the motor don't seem to jive with the schematic. I need help deciphering this and determine where to attach the...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I had some time today so I mounted a 1/3 HP motor to the Emerson 2nd Gen DP. While I still think it's fugly, I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the design otherwise, It has a huge spindle with a 6" throw. Integrated on-off switch and light, and the motor mount easily adjusts up and down as...

    Electric Motor Wiring

I put the motor together and wired it up. Worked great, thanks a lot! it’s on the DP and working fine. Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it. I hate to ask, but I’ve got one more motor that I need some help on, a nice Craftsman 1/2 hp. Seems dead. I’ll check the continuity between the...

    Electric Motor Wiring

I'm looking for another motor somewhere but it irks me not getting this motor working correctly. I popped off the end bell to see what's what underneath. Seems good, nothing broken of missing best I can tell. The two spade clips where I was getting continuity are the two wires to the right of...

    Craftsman Drill Press

The Variable Speed Motor is interesting but it is noisy-er than a regular motor. The RPMs on the control state 500-5000 so fast is crazy fast. I haven't checked it with a tachometer so not sure if it's really 500 RPMs. I don't think the torque is as good as a regular motor either and I'm using a...

    Craftsman Drill Press

So here are the pics of the 1968-69 Emerson G2. Like I said it's too complete and in great condition to part out. I haven't cleaned anything on it yet. Not a mark on the table. The only odd thing I see is that the base is from the bench top model - not the floor model, but the guy swore he was...

    Electric Motor Wiring

Anybody? Is there a jumper missing or can I hook up the power leads to 4&5 where I have continuity? I don't want to damage the motor but I need this motor. Thoughts?

    Craftsman Drill Press

I did go pickup that Emerson Gen 2 DP from which I was going to steal the sprindle pulley, but when I got it home, it was so complete and in good condition, I decided to not rob parts from it but clean it up and move it on. it's just missing a motor but the guy had the motor pulley. I'll post...

    Electric Motor Wiring

I tested between 1 &4 or 5 and 2 and 4 or 5 and there is no continuity between any of those connections - only between the two spade terminals - 4 & 5. Should I be using 4 & 5 for my power connection? Thanks - Jim

    Electric Motor Wiring

Thanks for the reply. So I tested it and I have continuity between the two spade terminals - 4&5, but not the threaded terminals - 1&2. So to be clear, I should be using the two spade terminals which have continuity? Thanks for your help.

    Electric Motor Wiring

Hey Folks, I'm looking to use an old electric motor for a small drill press I'm putting together. I don't know squat about electric motor wiring so looking for some help. With a test cord, I'm not getting any response from the two round terminals labeled 1 & 2, but the motor spins using the...
