    Craftsman Drill Press

Hello All, here are some pics of the DP cover. It is aluminum. Frank, the parts are exactly the same as you wrote up and posted, the exception is the chrome acorn nut for the top. I that that is original. Works as you stated. So I know this is a subjective question but what's this cover worth...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I will take pics of the cover and hardware and will post. Yes, there have been quite a few DPs come and go but nothing like Frank!. I have two workshops - the outside workshop for warm weather and the basement shop for cold weather. That said, I have two DPs in each shop. Two floor models, one...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I purchased this DP. When I initially heard back from the seller he told me there was someone in front of me. Oh well, there goes that one. Surprisingly, he called me the next day to say the guy backed out and it was mine if I wanted it. I did, and after a 90 minute drive though the Bershires, I...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Gents. I posted a couple of weeks ago about a Atlas DP I stumbled across with a MSA. Very nice, all original, paid $100. Then last night on FBMP I see an ad for a Craftsman DP also with a MSA and it's 3 miles from me - $75. Was posted for 8 hrs so I figured it was gone bu no, and it's now mine...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Grez-off it is. The original paint looks great underneath. I was going to sell this one but it’s pretty darn sweet, hard to let it go. We’ll see.

    Craftsman Drill Press

Hello folks, not Craftsman but thought you might appreciate. I purchased this Atlas model 64 DP off FBMP yesterday from a very nice old gentleman. It's not missing a part and is in really great shape under the grease and grime. Table has one small mark and came with the hi-lo middle pulley...

    Craftsman Tool Stand

I have some vintage Craftsman tools I am mounting on the period tool stands. I have the stand rails, but am missing some of the u-shaped clips that go on the bottom. Has anyone have a source for these clips? I couldn't find them at Sears parts. Thanks.

Boice Crane Friction-Matic Wet Tool Grinder

The shaft is 1”, thinking a 3” or 3.5”, not sure.

    Craftsman 109.6620 Wet Grinder

I was looking for a vintage wet grinder and as always, I found one and next day another. First was the Boice-Crane, then a Craftsman 109.6620 Double A 1401 Gear Reduction Wet Grinder. I'm looking for a pub reprint for this tye wet grinder. Nothing on VM under Craftsman or Double A. That's...

Boice Crane Friction-Matic Wet Tool Grinder

I came across this cool old Boice Crane Friction-Matic Wet Tool Grinder. The PO put a large 10" pulley on it and I'd like to put an original size pulley on it. I can't find any literature that says what size the pulley on the grinder is. Does anyone have one of these and can let me know? Would...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I picked up a nice Parker 974 for a few bucks and am taking it apart for cleaning. It must have been in a damp place for a while because when I got the swivel base off one of the shoes was rusted in place. I got it loose but neither of the shoes will come off. I see from other posts that the pin...

    Atlas Universal Compound Vise

I cam upon a Atlas Universal Compound Vise at an estate sale last weekend. I was surprised I found it after all the traffic but it was buried. Lucky me, I was looking for a vintage one for a while for my DP. It was $10 and not missing any parts. I've cleaned it and getting ready to re-assemble...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Thanks guys! It’s the original paint. I did some scrubbing on it with a degreaser and then a light coat of BLO over the paint. I’m a big BLO fan. Runs real quiet and smooth.

    Craftsman Drill Press

I've posted here a few time with the before, but I always forget the after. Here's this one. I've moved away from restore and paint to just clean and leave the patina. Has a neat label on the handle hub that I've never seen before. Check out the old Welch Cam-Loc Drill Press clamp, works well!

What kind of motor is this?

Yes, 1725, likely 1/3 hp. It’s a 5/8” shaft. Just wondering the manufacturer, I don’t recognize this one. Thanks
