yeah, the pine has broken every time I have had this happen. Even when the ratchet is new, there is a little play in the hole that the pin rides in, so I wonder if that is causing extra forces on the pin/hole, thereby causing the pin and ear to fail. My Mac and snapon ones dont have that play...

I have used both of the HF ones. The "Universal" one is the better of the two IMO. The one with the 3 feet tended to rock alot, and almost fell over once while I was grinding. Two things to look at on any air tool, but especially die grinders... 1: Air consumption - Cheaper ones tend to **** ALOT of air. Make sure your compressor can handle the tool. 2: RPM - Spinning your bits/discs/etc too fast will destroy them. Not saying that you need the most expensive one out...
