Really? We work on them all the time, it's just a rebranded LiftMaster. I don't believe their made anymore though.

    Curtis air compressor

I have the same one and paid $400 for it a couple years ago. I did buy it from my uncle, so may have gotten a better deal. Not sure what others get for them, but that's what I paid.

    garage door opener

I get that, I'm just saying that it shouldn't drop at all. Whether it stops by itself or if you hit the button to stop it.

    garage door opener

Ok that helps. Sounds to me like a circuit board issue. Normally when the light starts flashing randomly like that it is never good. Being that it is 9 years old, I would say replace the whole opener. I would also recommend that you change the eyes and wall button as well. For the time it...

    garage door opener

Ok, what is the brand on the opener?

    garage door opener

Ok, first off, make sure your door is balanced, you may have a broken spring, or it just isn't balanced. Sounds to me like it is really heavy, it shouldn't be dropping down at all when the opener stops. From there try your opener again, it may work just fine, the whole problem just may be that...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Made in China. Not too happy about that. I had a friend get them for me, never even noticed they were Chinese til I flipped the package over. I haven't used them yet, but they are smooth and the finish is great on them, so I can't complain too much.

Amarr garage doors vs Reynor or CHI?

I can't say how good Armarr doors are, I don't think we have ever worked on one. I know for a fact that Raynor and CHI are two of the best I have seen. Raynor is pretty pricey from what I hear, but you get a top of the line product. We put in CHI doors and they are cheaper than Raynor and just...

What's a good shop creeper stool

I have the adjustable Craftsman one too and I feel your pain. It just *****, every time I use it I about tip over on it. Definitely would not recommend that one, although it is affordable. I am interested in getting a new one, it will be interesting to see which ones are good.

    Broken garage door spring.

I would gladly pay for someone to do it who has the right tools and will get it done in a timely fashion. I put in garage doors, I am by no means a mechanic. I am all for somebody learning something new, I am the same way. But just because I watch a youtube video on a topic doesn't mean that I...

    Broken garage door spring.

I would recommend that you just call a good door company to replace them. You get the right springs for the door, not a set of springs that are off the shelf from a store. Most door companies should have springs in stock, unless you have an out of the ordinary door. Normally we measure the...

Clopay Garage Door Help, Broken Bottom Panel.

I would be willing to bet that you can get a door very similar to it. It may not be a perfect match, but there are many variations of doors that style out there, so that is why I am saying you could get one similar. In most cases when a door gets damaged and there isn't a replacement panel...

    Garage Door seal question

I don't know what the advantage would be, never seen a door that required a seal like that. One tip I will give you, spray some WD-40 or a similar lubricant in the track where the seal slides into, it will make your life way easier.

    Garage Door seal question

Haven't got a clue there. I have only seen a handful of doors like that and we don't work on them. Wish I could help.

    Garage Door seal question

Normally on doors that don't have standard bottom seal retainer, we put on a seal that screws on. We get our seals from our distributor who gets them from Advanced Plastics out of Chicago. I don't believe they sell to anybody but dealers, but don't hold me to it. Normally we have to buy a whole...

    Garage Door Size & Source.....thinking 16x8

I suggest you order it through a door dealer and have them install it as well. We have run into so many situations where a homeowner tries to save a buck and install doors themselves and they install it wrong. So then we come in and fix it and then their cheap door ends up more expensive than...

The Emergency Stop Messed Up My Sensors

You are talking about older Genie openers. I completely forgot about those, we don't see those too much anymore. You are 100% right in what you are saying, however, it doesn't apply to the OP. Genies are the only openers that I can think of that have their own style trolley, not a two piece.

The Emergency Stop Messed Up My Sensors

No. Unhooking the door from the opener has ZERO effect on the limits of the opener. The trolley maintains it's position regardless of where the door is. Most trolleys have a male and female part, the female part is what the arm is attached to, the male part is attached to the chain, belt, etc...

The Emergency Stop Messed Up My Sensors

The limit switches you are describing are the style that Genie uses, I have never seen a Linear with limit switches like that. Every Linear I have seen has them internally, and are adjusted by turning a screw through the cover on the unit, similar to how LiftMaster/Chamberlain does it. Also...
