    Teach Me About Welding

Last year I was in the same boat as you. College student and everything who wanted to weld. I picked up a Longevity 140 Mig. Ithink its the same as the eastwood 135(?) I think. Ive only used flux core in it and it feeds wire nicely and is decent quality. Its perfect to be able to take it...

    Tools I bring Fishing

It depends, what kind of fishing are you doing? For me I fish from a kayak or a boat or a jet ski and mostly in a river. The kayak sometimes sees lake fishing. sometimes I just bring a multi tool sometimes the whole gambit of forceps, multi tool, cutters, and needle noses.

    Snap On Repo Traded Tools?

What re the other ways? I'm honestly asking out of curiousity. Reading through this thread it seems the serial numbers are only on the stickers? I'm surprised snap-on doesnt stamp the metal...

Another tools that were going to be thrown out thread.

I have a nice little gift for finding tools or rescuing them from the trash. My friends and I have a running joke about "acquiring" tools. (No, I do not steal anything I have) In the past year ive gotten a band saw, chop saw, aircompressor with bad pump, 220V pedestol grinder, xy vise, 5...

    Best tool for pinewood derby?

A jig saw to cut the shape, Then a spoke shave to give it some shape. A spoke shave is a great tool to get someone into woodworking. It does have a sharp blade but safety should be taught before anything else anyway. Then use your drill to place your weights. You can get a HF jig saw for 20...

    Chop Saw or Band Saw?

As im interested in doing this as well, What are situations where one would favor a band saw over a cop saw the other? Or vice versa? Also how about consumable pricing availability. Is a mid range chop saw better than a low end band saw? Again these questions are being asked by a hobbyist/...

What to do with a busted compressor?

Sorry for the blurry pictures. You would think a brand new smart phone has a betr camera. And rslaback, no I will most likely never need it as there is an 80 gallon already hooked up. It would be a why not kind of thing.

What to do with a busted compressor?

OK so I have a craftsman oil-less 60 gallon 230v compressor for free. The pump blew the rods and a rebuild kit is 160. I don't need it now because I still live with my parents and my dad has a rather large compressor. Id rather not rebuild that pump because the rebuild is so much money and...

Help Me Select Impact + Drill Set

Well I have the Ridgid and I am happy with the tools. I got it for the lifetime warranty as well. I have not had to utilize it yet but registering it for the warranty was easy. As for Milwaukee and dewalt, they are definately higher quality tools and have a better tool line up to expand to...

What saw (s) do you take camping?

Over the summer I purchased this from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002EDAUO2/?tag=atomicindus08-20 This thing is awesome. I generally backpack and very rarely car camp so its bring what you can carry. These are small, relatively light, and go through 4 inch logs way faster than a...

    VIDEO: Wrap That Handle

QFT. As a friefighter and engineer, there truly is a formula for everything. Do not let your judgement get in the way during extinguishment. During overhaul it is essential to protect as much property as possible. I always try to tarp things prior to puling a ceiling or wall. As a not to...

Casters -- Pneumatic Worth the $$$?

If your frequently rolling around on rough surfaces or grass or throuh doors, then pneumatic is worth it. I put some 6" pneumatics of my HF 4 drawer cart because I routinely have it on my stone driveway and roll it around the yard on grass.

    #2 pencils

I use dixon ticonderoga all day long at school. My preferred choice. There are nicer but they also cost more. I understand just enjoying a #2, in both senses. Also if you find you are breaking points often while sharpening, it could be your sharpener. Also put it in your ear not your...
